Louis IV from Chiny, says the young, probably dead at Cahors during autumn 1226, was chiny County de 1189 to 1226. He was the son of Louis III, Count of Chiny and Sophie.
He succeeded in 1189 his father died on a crusade, but his mother and uncle Thierry de Mellier took care of him because of his young age. Major in 1220, he probably participated in the albigensian Crusade, where he died.
In the hypothesis where his sextaeul Otton Ier from Chiny is the son of'Albert Ier from Vermandois, he would then be one of the last lineage descendants patrilineal de Charlemagne one of the last known members of the dynasties carolingian.
