        This indenture made and entered into this 4th day of September in the year Eighteen Hundred & Fifty one between Wm. T. Skaggs of the county of Taylor & Commonwealth of Kentucky of the one part & Thomas Price of the County & Commonwealth aforesaid of the other part. Witnesseth that the said Skaggs for & in consideration of the sum of One Hundred and forty Dollars in hand paid the receipt of which is hereby acknowledged hath granted bargained and sold and by these presents doth grant bargain sell unto the said Price his heirs and assigns forever all that tract or parcel of land situated and being in the county of Taylor on the waters of Pitmans Creek and bounded as follows to wit: Beginning at the beginning corner of the old tract of 150 acres thence S 19 W 73 poles to 2 gums & hickory thence S 84 W 41 poles to 2 poplars thence N 77 W 60 poles to a slash thence N 71 West to a gum & poplar at the corner of the fence thence with said fence a straight line 80 poles to a chestnut in the old line thence with the same S 73 E to the beginning containing Seventy acres to be the same more or less together with all the appertenaces therewith belonging or in anywise appertaining to have and to hold the land hereby conveyed with the appertenaces unto the said Thos. Price his heirs and assigns forever and the said Skaggs for himself, his executors and administrators the aforesaid tract of land and appertenaces unto the said Price his heirs and assigns against the claim or claims of all and every person or persons whatsoever doth forever warrant & defend by these presents. In Witnesa whereof the said Skaggs together with his wife who hereby relinquishes her right of dower in and to the land conveyed in this deed hath hereunto set their hands and seals the day and date first above written.
