        John was listed as a buyer of items at Tapley Fryers' sale, 21 Jan 1834

        There is no marriage record for John and Malinda in Madison Co, AL. It is thought they were married in AL as their first children were born there. It is most likey they were married in Jackson Co, AL as that is where the Bazore family was located at that time. He went with cousin Solomon Despain, James P. Daniel and other family members in 1821. He return to Green Co, KY by 1828/29. John was first mentioned in the 1829 Green County tax list. There was an extra John Despain in the 1827 list, but based on the children's stated birth place this was not John B. Despain.

        John and Malinda had 14 children and a lot of information is available on this family as most of them stayed in the Green County, KY area. The births of the children are from John B.'s journal. Some of the births seem too close together.
