Narrative

William de Montacute, who had summons to attend the king into Gascony against Alphonso X, King of Castile, who had usurped that province. The 41st of Henry III, 1257, he was summoned to be with the king at Chester on the feast day of St. Peter ad vincula, well furnished with horse and arms, thence to march against Llewellyn ap Griffith, Prince of Wales.
