Narrative

Allen Sirles was the son of Joseph Sirles and Martha "Patsy" Roberts, who were married on March 21, 1812 in Russellville, Logan County, Kentucky. Allen was born on Febrauary 14, 1819 in Grayson County, Kentucky. He was the husband of Elizabeth "Betsy" Harris.

At the time of the 1880 Census of Caneyville, Grayson County, Kentucky the Allen Sirles household consisted of: Allen, a farmer, age 60; his wife Betsey, a house keeper, age 60; and their children: George R., age 29; and Lucinda J., age 22. Warren Anderson, age 17, was working as a servant for the family.

Allen and Elizabeth were married about 1845 in Grayson County. In 1850 his property was valued at $300. They were the parents of the following children who were born there:

Allen Sirles died at the age of 70 years and 7 days on February 21, 1889. He was buried in the Wilson Cemetery at Ready, Grayson County, Kentucky. His wife Elizabeth joined him there after her death at the age of 70 years, 3 months and 5 days on February 14, 1890.
