Richard S. was knighted by Edward IV., and was a parker of Lathgryme (Patent 4 May, 13 Edward IV.,1473; W.). Robert Morley gave Dinkley and Merley, near Whalley, in trust to Richard S., mil., and others 3 Aug. 1480 (Ducat. Lane. Cal. Inq., 1 2). This same man or his successor,described as "Roberti Morley seised de Bradhill cum per-tinentiis in villa de Billjmgton, etc.," who gave his lands in trust for the use of "Elena Shyrburne filie Ric. Shyrburne, mil.," and whose will is dated 19 Dec. 1610, left his property to Elena S. for her life, with successive remainder to his sons ;he mentions his wife Elizabeth (Lane.
