Post Em to Emma Norman @ World Connect @ Rootsweb by Ty Coup on 11/8/2008:
From the November 1, 1928 Abilene Weekly Reflector-Chronicle
Emma Normon was born in Mar. 24, 1861 near Orange, in Cuyahoga Co., Ohio. She married Isaac L. Book on Jan. 17, 1886. She died on Saturday, October 27, 1928 in Abilene KS.

From the October 29, 1928 Abilene Reflector-Chronicle
Emma Norman was born at Orange, Ohio, March 24, 1861, where she spent the first ten years of her girlhood. Then she moved with her parents to Illinios where they resided for a time. Later they returned to Ohio for several years, when they returned to Illinois for a short while until the spring of 1880, when they moved to Dickinson County, KS.

On the 17th day of January, 1886, she was united in marriage to Isaac L. Book. They began their happy home in this country and lived here until the spring of 1892 when they moved to State Center, Iowa, where they resided until the spring of 1903 when they returned to Dickinson county, locating at Talmage, where they lived continously until the fall of 1925, at which time they came to Abilene, where they lived until she passed away, Saturday, October 27, 1928.

There were six children born to Mr and Mrs Book, all of whom survive their mother, and greatly mourn their loss. The are Roy N. Book of Augusta, KS., Mrs. Pearl Martin of Los Angeles, CA., who was unable to be present; Mrs. F.L. Chase, Manhattan; Noah N. Book, Emporia; Floyd N. Book, of Salinas, CA.; likewise unable to attend his mothers funeral, and Harold C. Book of Abilene. This is the first death that has come to this good family. Mrs. Book is also survived by her two brothers, Joe Norman of Abilene and Frank Norman of Omaha, NE, and four half-brothers, Jim and Charley Norman, both of Hills Summit, Dan Norman of Abilene, and Tom Norman of Los Angeles, CA. She is also survived by nine grandchildren, other relatives, and many friends.
