Sir William Bardolf, Constable of Nottingham Castle was born at of Wormgay, Norfolk, Shelford, Nottinghamshire, England. He married Juliane de Gournay, daughter of Hugh de Gournay and Matilda (Maud), before 1254; They had 4 sons (Sir Hugh, 1st Lord Bardolf; Sir Roger; Sir John; & William) & 1 daughter ((unnamed), wife of Edmund de Bassingbourne).2,3 Sir William Bardolf, Constable of Nottingham Castle died on 1 December 1289.2
