        The Will of Sir Francis Godolphin of Godolphin (Parish of Breage) 1665
        Memorandum that Sr Francis Godolphin late of Godolphin in the County of Cornwall Knight of the Bath
        deceased being of perfect mind and memory Did in the Moneth of June in the yeare of our Lord God One
        Thousand Six Hundred Sixty and Five make and declare his last will and Testament in writing The Contents
        whereof Follow (vizt) First he gave to his Daughter Frances Twelve Hundred pounds, his daughter Elizabeth
        having received her full portion Item to his daughter Penelope Twelve Hundred pounds Item To his
        daughter Margarett One Thousand Pounds To be paid her att Nyneteene yeares of Age Item to his
        Daughter Katherine One Thousand pounds To be paid her att Nyneteene yeares of Age Item to his
        daughter Anne One Thousand Pounds To be paid her att Nyneteene yeares of Age And that his Daughters
        should have their education and maintenance until their Porcions became Payable with desire That all his
        daughteres would leave their Porcions after they became due with their brother Sr William Godolphin att
        Foure pounds per Cent And he gave them their dyett in the house with their mother and Eldest Brother
        Item he gave to his wife the Lady Dorothy Godolphin One Annuity of Fifty pounds per Annum dureing her
        life Chargeable upon and issueing out of his lands and Demeasnes of Godolphin with a Clause and power to
        distreyne in case of non payment Item he willed that his wife Should live & have her diet at Godolphin
        dureing her widowhood Item to his sonne Francis one hundred and Twenty pounds per Annum for his life
        Charged on and issuing out of his lands in Norfolk with like clause of distress as above Item to his sonne
        Sidney one hundred pounds per Annum for his life Charged on and issuing out of his lands in Norfolk with
        like clause of Distresse as above Item To his said Two sonnes Francis and Sidney All the Estate and Interest
        he had in the lands of St Charles Berkeley Item to his sonne Henry Sixty pounds per Annum until hee
        attaine the Age of Twenty and Six yeares All which by me the Tenement of Trevathen would be in hand
        and then the said Tenement of Trevarthen upon such termes and under such reuls and Conditions as
        Francis Godolphin of Treveneage Esqr deceased held the same Item To his sonne Charles his Estate in the
        Tenemente of Trembethon and Carew? after the death of the Earle of Falmouth And in the mean tyme
        Sixty Pounds per Annum Item to his sonne Edward the Tenement in Trenerth dureing his life after the
        death of the Widdow Mitchell And in the meane tyme Twenty pounds yearly Item to his sonne henry Foure
        Hundred pounds Due from Sir Charles Berkeley onely the Principall without Interest Item to his sonne
        Edward Three Hundred pounds nowe due from Sr Charles Berkeley Onely the Principall money without
        Interest Item to his sonne Charles Three Hundred pounds more due from the said Sr Charles Berkeley by
        bond onely the principall without interest Item To his sonnes Charles and Edward the Tenement called
        Cunnacott Hill which he purchased of the Trustees of Sr Bevill Greenvill and confirmed by the Earle of Bath
        Item to the Poore of the Parish of Breage Twenty pounds To be paid within Six Months Item To the Poore
        of the parish of Germoe Twenty pounds To be paid within Six moneths Item an acknowledgment of a Debt
        of Eighty Pounds due to the parish of Breage for which he had paid the Interest But did not remember
        whether or not he had given bond for it Item an acknowledgment of Fifty Pounds debt due to the Parish of
        Germoe for which he had paid the Interest But did not remember whether he had given bond for it or not
        Item to Widdow Corkran and her sister foure pounds yearly dureing their lives Item to the daughter of
        James Tranmow Two pounds yearly during her life Item to his servant Richard Sleeman Twenty pounds
        Item Twenty Pounds to be distributed among his meaner Servantes att the discretion of his Executors Then
        a further explanation of his meaning That his daughters should have their Portions in their owne hands
        when they become due if they pleased But with a desire they would leave them in their Eldest Brothers
        hands att foure pounds per Centum All the Rest of his Goods and Chattells he gave and bequeathed to his
        Eldest sonne Sr William Godolphin Baronett whom he made and Ordayned his whole and sole Executor of
        his last will and Testament
        A postcript To the Will purporting That in February one Thousand Six Hundred Sixty and five The said Sr
        Francis Godolphin had perused his said will And that after the making thereof his daughter Jaell was
        married to Mr Edward Boscawen And that he had paid Five Hundred pounds of her Portion And had given
        bond for One Thousand pounds And therefore gave her onely Five shillings This Paper was showne to
        James Robins gent and Sr William Godolphin Bartt 21 May 1667 ?.. Philipps Jacebus Trewinnard This
        Schedule was exhibited and Showne att the Execution of both Comissions unto the Witnesses and parties
        Principall William Foster John Cennocke Richard Sleeman James Robins et Edwardus Boscawen jnr
        As alsoe unto the lady Dorothy Godolphin Frances Godolphin Frances Godolphin Penelope Godolphin and

        This will was proved in the Strand in the County of Middlesex before the Venerable man Sir William
        Mericke Knight Doctor of Law Master Keeper or Commissary of the Prerogative Court of Canterbury
        lawfully constituted on the twenty fist day of the month of May one thousand six hundred sixty seven on
        the oath of Sir William Godolphin Baronet son and Executor in the said will named to whom was granted
        administration of all and singular the goods rights and credits of the said deceased well and faithfully to
        administer the same having sworn on the Holy Gospels.
