Quartet was a relatively obscure arcade game by Sega that received relatively obscure ports to a few systems including the Commodore 64 and Sega Master System. The game was somewhere between 2D platformer and side-scrolling shooter. The arcade game was released in 1986 with the ports to home systems to follow in 1987. While the Sega Master System version was released in the U.S., I’m not sure if the Commodore 64 version was released outside of Europe or not.
The graphics for the Commodore 64 port were relatively poor though the gameplay was kind of ok assuming you liked the arcade game in the first place. Reviews were generally pretty bad though. An arcade sequel was released as an upgrade kit shortly after the original that was basically the same game but some more levels.
Screen shots are from the Commodore 64 version. As you can see, the title screen may be ok but the gameplay graphics are below par for the C64.
