- He [Robert de Ogle] married Ellen, daughter and heir of SirRobert BERTRAM, of Bothal, chivaler, by his 1st wife, Margaret(living in May 1341), daughter and coheir of Constance, wife ofWilliam DE FELTON (f)... His widow married, 2ndly, before 25October 1364, John DE HATFIELD, citizen and pepperer of London,who was living in 1368, and died before 15 May 1373. Shemarried, 3rdly, before 28 June 1377, David DE HOLGRAVE, sometimethe King's esquire. She died 24 September 1403. David deHolgrave died 9 June 1405 (k). (f) Ellen's age is stated variously in the inquisitions of herfather, Nov 1363, as 22 or 26.
(k) He [David de Holgrave] served as banneret in the campaign inBrittany in 1380; and was Knight of the Shire, Northumberland,1382 and 1383. In 1403 he and his wife Ellen had licence tosettle Bothal on John Bertram, younger son of Sir Robert Dogle(sic.).
