Millie was a daughter of John Reeves, Sr (1766-1855) and Catherine Perry Reeves (1785-aft1855). John Reeves, Sr came from North Carolina to Kentucky and Catherine Perry was born in Monroe County, Kentucky. They lived Taylor County and are buried there, perhaps on their farm in a family cemetery that is no longer identified.
It should be noted the Huber family alternately used the name "Hoover" up until the latter part of 1800s when they seemed to settle on using the name "Huber."
The death date of 1851 is approximate. She died when their 3 children were small.
She was my great grandmother and the first wife of my great grandfather, James M. Huber. They were married on 24 January 1843. They had 3 children. Mary Catherine Huber; William Thomas Huber; and John Charles (Charner) Huber (my grandfather). She died shortly after my grandfather, J. C. Huber was born in 1850. After she died my great grandfather, James M. Huber would marry again 3 times.
"Millie" may have been a nickname for Emily instead of Mildred. In the Marriage bond records there is the following entry: HOOBER, James (James McDaniel Huber) and Emily Reaves. Bond 24 Jan 1843. Wm. T. Skaggs on bond. Consent by Rebecca McDaniels. (Rebecca Hoover Stinnett McDaniels was the mother of Almira Rebecca Stinnet who married James' brother Willis Huber(Hoover).(Rebecca Hoover may have also been the mother of Willis F. Huber, and James M. Huber, as well). If so, it may be that Willis married his half-sister Almirah.
Millie Janes sister, Ruth Reeves, Married John Hash (B. 1821), and their son William R. Hash (B. 1842), Married Sarah Dewitt after my grandfather Samuel Sutherland Allen's death at Andersonville Prison during the Civil War.
William R. Hash Was in Company H, 6th Regiment, Kentucky Cavalry.
