Narrative
April 2006 - Found Catharine's grave in the Newcomerstown, Tuscarawas Co., Ohio Cemetery. Her stone was somewhat readable: In Memory Of - Catharine Ward Norman - Wife of - Joshua Norman - Beloved Mother - April 26, 1866 or 1868- Aged - not readable. (NOTE: Probably not Apr. 1866 since the 1900 Census states Benjamin, Catharines last child was born in May of 1866 and I question 1868 since Joshua reportedly married his 3rd wife in Aug. 1868.) Next to Catharine's grave was the grave of her & Joshua's daughter, Sarah C.. Sarah's stone was almost unreadable. (See Sarah's notes.) The cemetery in Newcomerstown is located at the intersection of West St. & State St. From Hwy 36, turn on Pilling St., go to Canal St., turn on West St. and continue. Turn in the 1st drive, continue a very short distance until you see a large gray stone facing the drive, with the name of MULVANE, on the same plot is a large gray stone with the name of DENT, Catharine & Sarah's graves are near the cemetery fence. There are 2 large Cedar trees & 1 small Cedar tree near the graves. You will walk past some stones of the NICODEMUS family & a large gray stone with the name SCHURTZ before you get to the trees. The next stones after the trees are Catharine & Sarah.

1860 census- Oxford Twp., Coshocton Co., Post Office: White Eyes Plains-Joshua age 35, Catharine age 22, Sarah age 2 & Emma age 2 mo. (born Mar. or Apr. of 1860). On the census Emma is listed as unknown female. In the 1910 census of Isaac L. Book & Emma Norman her age is listed as 50 years making her born in 1860. The 1860 census- Cath<a>rine is spelled with an "a" not an "e". Her grave stone is spelled "CATHARINE"
I am unable to find any info on Catherine other than her marriage to Joshua.
If the age listed for her in the 1860 census, 22 years, is correct, & I believe it to be, and if their marriage date is correct, which I believe it to be, since their marriage is listed in the Coshocton County marriage records, then she would have been 15 or 16 at the time of her marriage to Joshua.
