It looks very possible that the new Kylo Ren baddie might really be
Luke Skywalker, which would explain why Mark Hamill is and isn't in the
movie, and the trailer scene with R2-D2. Although how / why he turned
bad is another question.
*IF* that is true, then it's looking more and more like talentless JJ
Abrams is simply doing just another lazy silly "reboot", with the usual
over-the-top battles and special effects movies these days "must" have.
We've got a new "Death Star" space station, a new "Empire" in the First
Order, a new baddie in a mask who is a Skywalker, a new young person on
Tatooine to save the day (female this time of course!) who is likely
Han and Leia's daughter so of the Skywalker bloodline, tweaked X-wings
(like the tweaked fighters in Moore-Ron's "Battlestar Galactica"), etc.
Add in JJ Abrams complete lack of ability for making comprehensible
stories with sensible conclusions, and, to misquote many characters
from the Star Wars movies, "I have an extremely bad feeling about
this", and it's getting worse with each piece of new information. :-(
Another opinion is that Kylo Ren is instead one of Han and Leia's
children, but that seems less likely and doesn't explain why Hamill is
missing in action (unless he's being held prisoner by Kylo Ren).
