Comeon now, that must have been the SHITTIEST story of the
year, (worse even then Secret Wars).  What a cop-out ending.
It seems like some dummy decided that they couldn't write a
suitable ending, and so they decided to do a GRIMM'S FAIRY TALE
ending.
Here is the summary of the whole story.
Bad guys come.
Bad guy catch good guys.
Bad guy manipulates good guys.
etc. etc. (somewhat of a story)
Bad guy about to win.
Many good heroes die.
BOOM!
GOOD GUYS WIN. AND WE ALL LIVE HAPPILY EVER AFTER

And that folks, is why THE XMEN, have been placed on my 
"looks like I won't collect" list

One might wonder if the ending of #191 is really the way Claremont
originally wanted it, or if the ending (the whole story???) was the
result of meddling from above...  It's happened before...
