In response to the recent message asking about redistribution conditions:
(1) Many of the fonts on MacFonts1 and MacFonts2 are copyrighted
and can only be used for personal use. You can't sell them, use
them in a commercial program that you write, etc. without getting
permission from all of the copyright owners involved.
A fair number of copyright notices appeared in the "Get Info" boxes.
Sometime I need to put together and post a file containing all these
messages. For now, assume that all the fonts are copyrighted (that
is the only safe bet, since some are "origin unknown").
(2) It is perfectly OK to give copies of the font disks to friends
or to user group libraries, provided that you only give away copies
of the complete set. (This prevents people from asking Keith Sproul
for partial sets to supplement bits & pieces grabbed here and there).
So far, I have posted one-half of the set. I will post the other half
(about twenty files) by this Saturday.
