I have started to do some school work with 1st Word and it is working
very nicely as a word processor (the price is right). I have run into
some problems, however, that disturb me. After working some time on a
document (with many incremental saves), I needed to look up a function
in the 1st Word Guide. I loaded the Guide and did a FIND. What the find
found was my document stuck right in the middle of the Guide. I rebooted
and tried the same thing again and sure enough, my document was still part
of the guide.

What is going on? Is 1st Word doing this or (horrors) is TOS doing this?
I don't have TOS in ROM yet so I guess there is still hope if TOS is the
culprit but it is very disconcerting not knowing when or what files will
get zapped. Maybe Neil at Atari can help on this one.

BTW, before this happened I noted some instances of similar things happening
with the Guide where parts of it were copied spuriously into other files so
this seems to be an ongoing problem.

Help, before I buy a hard disk.
