Well, I've tried using dumped carts (Warpspeed) with the C128
emoulator in VICE and it doesnt quite work. Some one told me that
Cartridge support in VICE X128 wasn't fully implemented yet...
But that is the only part of VICE that I can find that is not so good.
In all other ways VICE's 128 emulator rocks!

very old one (pre VICE) called PC128. The other one is still active and
very portable (for OS X, LINUX, BEOS, etc.) and not just a another windows
slave app. it is called : Mess.
PC128 can be retrieved here:
ftp://142.3.211.146/pub/cbm/emulation/cbm_emulation/dos-win
(my old server bit the dust and this one is slowly getting built, hence the
ip not the reilly.cc. as usual)
Mess can be retreived here:

You can emulate a lot more things with Mess, than you can with Vice. Vice
is a better GUI, however. Mess has a bunch of front end add on's that you
can use to ease playing around with it. You'll also need the romsets from
FUNET to run any CBM emulation with MESS.
