  • When cheaters are caught red-handed

Americans have always been for “fair play” and against cheating. It’s rooted in our heritage.

When pro athletes are caught using steroids or tilting the odds, the fans are not amused. It’s why “Deflategate” was such a big deal. New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady was fined and suspended for four games this season over improper inflation of footballs in a 2015 playoff game.

In 2008, baseball fan and fashion designer Marc Ecko underscored his own disdain for cheating in a big way. After bidding $752,467 at auction for the 756th home run ball hit by Barry Bonds that shattered the record of 755 held by Hank Aaron, Mr. Ecko conducted an online poll to determine the ball’s fate.

Fans had three options: Donate the ball to the Baseball Hall of Fame as is; put it into the Hall with an asterisk, since Bonds was suspected of using steroids, or shoot it to the moon. Almost half of 10 million voters urged him to place an asterisk on the ball. So Mr. Ecko did, using a laser.

The ball wound up in a glass case in Cooperstown, a reminder that even though Mr. Bonds is one of the greatest hitters of all time, he, uh, cheated. So the record is tainted.

Likewise, the idea that someone is gaming the political system does not sit well with most folks, especially if you get caught.

This is why CNN was forced to cut ties with contributor Donna Brazile after it was revealed that she had cheated by feeding questions to the Clinton campaign before Mrs. Clinton’s town hall appearance on CNN on March 13.

CNN announced Ms. Brazile’s resignation on Oct. 14, three days after WikiLeaks released a stolen email exposing the leak, according to the DailyCaller.com. Another email shows she leaked a question to Clinton campaign chief John Podesta before a March 6 debate.

Like many before her, Ms. Brazile, who became the chair of the Democratic National Committee in July, had gone seamlessly from Democrat political operative to a TV network role. The classic example is ABC’s George Stephanopoulos, who was Bill Clinton’s director of communications and senior adviser for policy and strategy and who gives sweetheart interviews — to Democrats. The major networks, with the exception of Fox, are indistinguishable from the Democratic Party’s public relations staff. Meanwhile, surveys show public trust in the media at an all-time low. Coincidence?

Liberal bias in this election cycle has been so blatant that even non-news junkies are shaking their heads. Ms. Brazile’s departure was one small step toward integrity, with countless more to go if the media are going to recover a shred of credibility.

Americans hate cheating. The Bernie Sanders movement grew out of the notion, however misguided, that the “rich” on Wall Street are cheating everyone else. That, and an itching to redistribute other people’s earnings to the Free Stuff Army. Bernie’s supporters are still justifiably sore that WikiLeaks revealed how Clinton backer and then-Democratic National Committee Chair Debbie Wasserman Schultz conspired to cheat him in the primaries.

The Trump movement took flight on the notion that America’s ruling elites are cheating the country in a variety of ways, from recklessly importing millions of illegal aliens to making a sport of taxing the already besieged middle class, and lying the whole time about their motives.

For sheer chutzpah, it’s hard to top Attorney General Loretta E. Lynch, who met with Bill Clinton on an airplane and then let Hillary Clinton off the hook despite her “reckless” use of her private email system as Secretary of State.

Now it’s come to light that Assistant Attorney General Peter Kadzik, a repeated Clinton donor and close friend of campaign chief John Podesta, is involved with the probe of Clinton adviser Huma Abedin’s emails.

Oh, and this: In an email from Mr. Kadzik to Mr. Podesta titled, “Heads up,” Mr. Kadzik offered “likely questions” that would be asked during a House Judiciary Committee hearing in May 2015 into Mrs. Clinton’s misusing a private email server to conduct State Department business.

    See any conflict here?

Meanwhile, Democrats have filed lawsuits in federal courts in four battleground states alleging that because Donald Trump and the Republican National Committee have urged citizens to volunteer for poll watching, it amounts to “a campaign of voter intimidation.”

Really? This comes from the same folks whose Justice Department under President Obama threw out intimidation charges against the New Black Panther Party, whose baton-wielding thugs were caught on video threatening voters at a Philadelphia polling place in 2008.

  • WikiLeaks: DNC and CNN colluded on questions for Trump, Cruz

Newly released emails from WikiLeaks suggest that the Democratic National Committee colluded with CNN in devising questions in April to be asked of then-Republican primary candidate Donald Trump in an upcoming interview.

In an email to DNC colleagues on April 25 with the headline “Trump Questions for CNN,” a DNC official with the email username DillonL@dnc.org asked for ideas for an interview to be conducted by CNN anchor Wolf Blitzer.

“Wolf Blitzer is interviewing Trump on Tues ahead of his foreign policy address on Wed. … Please send me thoughts by 10:30 AM tomorrow.”

The sender of the email would seem to be DNC Research Director Lauren Dillon, who was identified in previous reports of DNC emails released by WikiLeaks in July.

Several hours after the first email was sent, Dillon said in a follow-up email that the interview had been cancelled, “as of now,” but shared a list of questions thought up by the DNC that she said could be used for the next interview.

Some of the questions included: “Who helped you write the foreign policy speech you’re giving tomorrow? Which advisors specifically did you talk to? What advice did they give you? Did they give you any advice that you chose not to take?” Others explored Saudi Arabia’s alleged involvement in the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks, a pre-preemptive strike against North Korea and court martials for members of the military who didn’t follow orders.

A separate email from Dillon that same day said “CNN is looking for questions” for then-GOP primary candidate Texas Sen. Ted Cruz, and “maybe a couple on” former Hewlett Packard CEO Carly Fiorina.

CNN and the DNC did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

WikiLeaks dumped 8,263 new hacked DNC emails Sunday evening, the second batch released after the first was leaked in July. Those emails showed DNC officials plotting to undermine then-Democratic candidate Bernie Sanders in favor of now-Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton.

  • Tech analysis of emails leaves us wondering how Donna Brazile is still working at the DNC

Ever since John Podesta’s emails revealed that interim DNC chair Donna Brazile had sent at least one debate question to Hillary Clinton’s team in advance she has denied the charges. Of course, that’s not exactly the case. Nobody seems to have been able to get Donna to say that she didn’t do it. She simply tells us that she won’t be persecuted, while implying that the Russians altered the emails. But could the hackers have done that even if they wished?

A new analysis of the suspicious email in question has revealed that not only are the emails likely valid, but it would be nearly impossible for them to have been altered in the way Brazile is suggesting. First we are reminded of the flat denial which Brazile made to Megyn Kelly on Fox when the question was put to her. (Fox News)

“I have seen so many doctored emails. I have seen things that come from me at 2 in the morning that I don’t even send,” she said, adding, “I will not sit here and be persecuted, because your information is totally false.”

But as the test results show, Brazile is flat out lying yet again.

DomainKeys Identified Mail (DKIM) is a system employed by many email servers, including HillaryClinton.com, to verify emails to recipients and avoid spam filters. The system sends a DKIM “key” to the receiver to verify the sender and confirm the email hasn’t been tampered with.

Consequently, bloggers ran the DKIM keys included in this and other emails through verification software, which in turn validated the Palmieri email as both real and undoctored. The Daily Caller also ran a similar test and got the same result.

In a blog post for Errata Security, cybersecurity expert Robert Graham presented his results, and showed that if the emails had been altered in any way, the software would have declared the email unverified.

You can certainly edit the text of an email message before passing it along if you wish, but other copies of it on various servers would quickly put the lie to your claims if such were available. This, however, is far more damning. Unless somebody at the DNC can show a method whereby the identifying keys can be thwarted, these emails are real and unaltered. And if that’s the case, then Donna Brazile is continuing to lie to the American people about her illicit activities during the primary.

Mediaite pointed out how Brazile is a symptom of a much larger problem… one which undermines the faith of the voters not just in elections, but in the media which covers them.

The problem is that she is just the tip of the iceberg to the wider media lie; that the conversation you’re seeing on air about the candidates’ policies (which is rare), backgrounds, and aptitude for office is being delivered by neutral arbiters and journalists.

That’s as big of a lie as Donald Trump cherishing women.

Brazile is joined by a long list of phony “analysts” and “strategists”—as well as anchors and reporters—who were clearly in-the-tank for Hillary Clinton all along.

While I agree with the general point being made, that’s a bit of a soft sell. Saying that Brazile was “in the tank” for Clinton could leave one with the impression that she was simply a supporter and fan while offering a false veneer of neutrality. The interim DNC chair did much more than that. She actively conspired with a willing member of the media to cheat the voters in a presidential primary debate. And for the record I will once again ask the obvious question here: What are the odds that hackers gaining access to only one set of emails on John Podesta’s account uncovered the only instance of the media cheating the system to help out a Democratic candidate?

This wasn’t a CNN analyst and DNC official being a biased cheerleader. This was the media conspiring with a party official to rig the game in Hillary Clinton’s favor.
