Neither this editor nor the previous "original" Sidplayer were ever public domain. The Enhanced Sidplayer is only (approximately) $29.95 and is worth that for the book alone. No, it is not necessarily easy to use - but no toy program can crank quite so many effects out of that little SID chip. There is even a public domain stereo player (for stereo equipped 64s and 128s) which works with the Enhanced Sidplayer editor for double your pleasure (i.e. 6 voices). Order from Compute Publications via phone or your friendly local bookstore can order it for you if you give them the title and author: Compute!'s Complete Music System for the Commodore 64 and 128 The Enhanced Sidplayer by: Craig Chamberlain I was so enthusiastic about the package, I posted an extensive review about 6 months to a year back. Check out the archives. Sincerely, Frank Prindle Prindle@NADC.arpa
