I am generally very happy with it, since I can use it at 3AM w/o my wife beating me. To get the best results, you need to use the short-grain paper that HP pushes for it, otherwise the ink-drops can get a bit fuzzy. The print-head is disposable, removing the pain of cloged jets that most other ink-jet printers have. The head is finiky. It will clog if left unused too long. The best solution is twofold: either take a swap w/ alchohol and clean the front of the cartridge, and then dry with another swab. If this doesn't do it, put the BACK of the cartridge in your mouth and gently blow into the vent holes. This pressure primes the ink when the cartridge is being stubborn. HP recomentds pushing the ink bag with a paper clip, but I'm afraid of puncturing it. Other gripes: It is 12 pitch, with non-removable 1" margins left&right. Will not reverse feed paper at all, has no superscript/subscript or italic. If HP was smart, they would do a firmware upgrade... In perspective, I have found the pluses far outweigh the minuses, but that will depend a lot on what your needs are... -- Opinions expressed are public domain, and do not belong to Lotus Development Corp. ---------------------------------------------------------------- Simcha-Yitzchak Lerner {genrad|ihnp4|ima}!wjh12!talcott!sesame!slerner {cbosgd|harvard}!talcott!sesame!slerner slerner%sesame@harvard.ARPA
