At 2:06 EDT July 30 Jonathan "Jock" Boyer crossed
the finish line to win the Men's and Overall title
in the 1985 RAAM. His elapsed time of 9 days 2hrs
and 16min is the fastest crossing ever. Previous
editions of the RAAM covered a course some 200-400
miles shorter!!!

In second place, at 70 miles, was Michael Secrest.

Boyer's victory should silence the feud between
endurance cyclists(read "sleep deprivationists")
and racers as to who are the better athletes.

Also interesting to note is that Boyer has
signed a contract with the 7-11 team and
will be on the line Saturday(i.e 4 days from now)
for the start of the Coors Classic.

No news on the women, sorry.
