These are butter cookies with an orange flavoring. The list of ingredients on the box lists orange oil as one of the main ingredients, but we can't find any around here. The cookies are distributed by Crabtree and Evelyn and are described as "an old English traditional recipe..." I never saw any when I lived in England, but that doesn't mean anything. Any help, especially from you Britons, would be greatly appreciated.
