People have rights because "we the people" have decided that they have 
"inalienable rights" and it has nothing to do with the amount or quality
of their thinking.

Even the dead have the legal right to have their "last will and testament"
faithfully executed.  Even the dead have a moral right to a decent burial.
People 100 years old that cannot talk or walk have a right to food and shelter.
We must preserve the rights of the "least" among us for someday they will be us!
