As the one who started this discussion, let me point out a use we
have for a virtual machine capability. We develop code for board-level
systems which include M68000 processors on VMEbus boards. These run
the VRTX operating system. We have Sun workstations available. A virtual
machine capability would allow us to simulate the target environment on
the Sun systems, avoiding the bother of downloading, making ROMs, and
debugging in a very weak environment.
