that's THREE questions, but who's counting?

1) a scroll of scare monster.  i'll let you figure out how it's supposed
to work.
2) in 5.2 and 5.3, if you are blind, you can't be confused since you can't see
in advanced rogue's, a potion of clear thought would work, except medusas 
don't confuse, they stiffen you (or turn you to stone).
3) take away half you hit points
