Well, I already suggested the all-purpose honorific be pronounced
so as to show one's Degree of Information on the subject...as UMMM.

However, if you want a sound that indicates the spelling of M*
(obviously not an essential for any word in English; just look at
the pronunciation of "sign" and "answer" and "Mr"), then there are easier
ways than em-asterisk or masterisk.  For instance, how about Emster
(for M-star)?
