I suppose it's asking too much to expect relevance in net.flame,
but even it the TV libel were true, how would it bear on whether
murder weapons should be outlawed?  And how would that relate to
the general trend of the handgun discussion?

No-one wants the government controlling what they can and can't own
(heroin addicts, gun cranks, ...), but some societies think that a
little restriction is better than a lot of grief.
