Message-ID: <866@eisx.UUCP> Date: Fri, 8-Feb-85 09:16:22 EST Article-I.D.: eisx.866 Posted: Fri Feb 8 09:16:22 1985 Date-Received: Sat, 9-Feb-85 07:47:55 EST Organization: AT&T Info. Sys. Labs, South Plainfield NJ Lines: 22 On the subject of whether or not headhunters should be allowed in net.jobs: Ok, we've got a lot of unwritten rules about recruiting and ads on the net. If it becomes necessary to make some real, official rules (guidelines for moderators to use) let's make sure they're not based on some stupid reasons. I've seen a lot of people say "Why should my company pay for the net so that a headhunter can use it to hire away our employees?". If this is a valid argument it applies not only to headhunters, but to direct recruiting by all companies and colleges on the net. The basic question is, should recruiting really be done through net.jobs? My personal opinion: the presence of recruiting info on the net (which your company pays for) is analogous to the job ads in the back of the tech magazines that your company pays for. It's not the main reason you pay for the service, and you don't really lose that many people because of it. If net.jobs continues to exist, let it be open to any and all recruiting activities.
