I just used my fancy digital watch to time the distance between ^D and & when
using mail to deliver a letter: 36 sec.! Neither Mail nor sendmail takes
anything like this to invoke directly, and I have frozen my config file.
Should I keep looking, or is it really this slow? What's it doing all that
time?

I don't remember it being that bad, and wonder if I can attribute any of the
problem to my nifty new 750/RA81 combo...
