Intresting comments.  I'm 6'3" and weigh around 210 lbs.  The Audi 4000
I recently bought is the LARGEST car I've ever owned. I also own a Honda
Civic ('81).  Other cars I've owned are several VW beetles and a '78 Civic.
Funny thing is that I've never felt cramped in any of these cars.

Oh yes, I learned how to drive on my parents Chevy Impala and learned how
to drive a stick on a rather large dump truck.  Thus, I do know what having
a lot of room in a vehicle means.
