Oh really? Obviously you grew up in either a much more enlightened
or a much more secretive environment than most...

Then again, you probably never got a chance to hear the statements:

	- don't act so intelligent, boys won't like you
	- why should you go to school, when all you're going
to do is get married and have babies
        - Oh, going to Purdue? Trying to get an engineer for a
	  husband?
        - Women aren't supposed to enjoy sex, dear, we put up with
	  it as part of marriage
	- I've been married for 20 years, and now my husband has
left me for a younger woman. I don't have any skills,
my husband wouldn't *allow* me to work after we were
	  married
	- I went to my mother after my husband beat me, and all
she said was that I must have made him angry with me, and
	  that I deserved it.
	- My husband just died, and the bank has frozen all the
accounts because I never contributed to them. I don't
know how to take care of financial matters, I don't even
know where the papers are. My husband never let me see
	  any of them.
	- Why should you have a raise equal to him? He has a wife
	  to support.

Come off of it bozo! Women have been trapped for years in marriages
that weren't working, because they didn't have the education or the
experience to get a job. Many didn't even know how much money their
husbands made, because they were doled out an allowance with which
to run the house. And the only reason you didn't hear about wife
beatings is that they weren't reported, or that the police treated
them as 'family matters'.

Time to join the real world

Unfortunately, my magicks have very little use in an industrialised
society....
