For about the same money (based on NY prices quoted in the photo
magazine ads), I would recommend the Canon A-1 over the T70 without
question.  I think the A-1 is better made and has it's emphasis more
on the taking of pictures (as opposed to things like auto-loading/
rewinding, etc.).  The LED display is exceptionally nice to use;
LCD panels are sometimes difficult to read.  Lastly, the A-1 "looks"
more like a camera.  I just wish that Canon would come out with a
new version of the A-1 (which would probably be called something
imaginative like "the New A-1") which had spot metering a la the
Olympus OM-3/4, a faster shutter, etc.  I suppose it depends largely
on the sales of the T70 whether Canon stays committed to the T line.
