I don't think these issues were ever laid to rest.  But I don't think everyone
has always worried about them either.  You cannot look at the submissions
to net.singles as an indication of how all of us are feeling.  (This isn't a
flame either. :-) )

Some of us worry about living together.  Some of us worry about how our 
sexuality and religion can be compatible.  Some of us worry about where we
will get our next hug.  And some of us even worry about whether marriage is
forever.  But we are each individuals.  Not everyone in the 60's was a hippie.
Not everyone in the 70's was only looking out for themselves.  And not all
of us are in computer science for fame and fortune.  Some of us like what we
are doing.  People are different.

So ... as long as the topics in net.singles deal with people trying to cope
with being themselves either alone or as part of a couple, they serve to show
us all that people are different and have different joys and problems.

As for me, well, I'm looking forward to a much-needed hug from my LDSO (long
distance significant other).  Six weeks is too long between visits.
