Message-ID: <247@riv05.UUCP> Date: Fri, 8-Feb-85 14:06:56 EST Article-I.D.: riv05.247 Posted: Fri Feb 8 14:06:56 1985 Date-Received: Wed, 13-Feb-85 02:31:49 EST Organization: RIVM, Bilthoven, Holland Lines: 16 We are considering the installation of Proteon's 10MB token ring. The boards will go into VAX 750's, PDP11/70's, and later possibly also PDP11/73's, ALTOS 986's and IBM PC/AT's. Is there anyone out there with arguments in favor / against this ? Does anyone have information about reliability, performance, and service ? There appear to be only a small number of sites at this end of the ocean, and we cannot afford specialized network personnel just to keep a LAN running. We would be very grateful to receive any suggestions and comments on this, and hope to reach the land of tokens, packets, and datagrams without too many problems ... Yours truly, Jean-Claude Wippler ...!mcvax!riv04!jc
