Problem 1 (despite appearances the problem is in pdx):

Problem #1 is almost certainly a dependency of "pdx" on the UPAGES
kernel constant, or some related constant (the problem only occurs here
on a kernel with bigger UPAGES than normal). I suspect that problem #2
may be caused by the same thing, but I'm not sure.

Unfortunately, pdx won't compile for me... If some Berkeleyite would
send me a copy of /usr/src/ucb/pascal/px/h02opcs.h or whatever it is
that /usr/src/ucb/pascal/pdx/machine/pxops.h is *supposed* to include
instead, I could get a little further. Various files from nearby
directories and from previous distributions come close, but not close
enough, yet.
