One of it's more irritating problems is the rate at which it goes through alternators. After going through several rebuilt alternators, I have become convinced that there is a pathalogical flaw in either the field of stator coil design. The reason for this conclusion is that the odds of getting a working alternator from a rebuild shop is about 30%. New regulators and brushes just don't seem to be enough. Anyone out there have the same problem? Jim ihnp4!hou2g!stekas
