For those who are in the "over the hill" age range, we remember
"Swinging on a Star" as a very popular song in its day. It was
introduced by Bing Crosby in the movie "Going My Way" in which he
played a Catholic priest named Father O'Mally. Writer-directory Leo
McCarey won two Oscars. Academy Awards also went to Crosby and
co-star Barry Fitzgerald. The movie won Best Picture Oscar, and
"Swinging on a Star" won the Best Song award. (1944)

Words and Music by Johnny Blake and Jimmy Van Heusen

The song was a big hit as a single (recorded by Bing Crosby). So
if you want to hear it by the "Ol' Groaner", just keep an eye on
your TV listings for the movie.

Cheers,
  Lindsay
