The divestiture of the old "Bell System" probably will
go down in the history of both American business and law as
prima facie evidence that leaders in both fields can have
productive careers after prefrontal lobotomies. In honor
of those great leaders who made Divestiture a reality for
workers, for consumers, and for us all (God help us everyone),
here is the conclusion of a catchy little number whose words
were composed by some disgrunted wag somewhere in a Bell
System (there, Judge Greene, I said it!) spinoff. The tune
is the ever-popular "Twelve Days of Christmas."

		THE TWELFTH DAY OF DIVESTITURE

On the twelfth day of Divestiture, Judge Greene gave to me. . .

	12-digit dialing
	11 ways of calling
	10-hour days
	 9 levels MIPPing
	 8 separate stocks
	 7 holding comp'nies
	 6 lawsuits pending

		M C I !

	 4 calling cards
	 3 PR-20's
	 2 sets of rules

		AND A REGULATED NON-MONOPOLY!
