I own one, and use it on the commodore. The color and quality you will obtain are NOT what you would think if you use the demonstration sheet as an example of what the OKIMATE can do. Forget Text. It will be legible, but not suitable for anyone's viewing but your own. Really, I have returned one because I thought that it was bad, it prints so lightly. It just turned out that this is the way they work. Also, I was under the impression that I might be able to use normal paper. NO WAY. The only paper that you can use is the stuff OKIMATE sells themselves. (This is not to say that you can't use thermal paper for black and white, but I haven't tried that). OKIMATE sells paper at 9.50 per 250 sheets.... Ribbons do not last very long, and this OKIMATE will turn out to cost you more than you may have thought in the long run. The paper feed mechanism often ruins the sensitive paper when you are trying to load in a new sheet, or the starting sheet. Summation: We do not use the OKIMATE very much. There seem to be two models, one loud and one quiet. Color is ok, but not quite what is advertised. It is inexpensive, but take into consideration paper and ribbons. It is a neat novelty, but you get what you pay for. "devoz" "Opinion"
