Look, gregbo, if you didn't see the show, don't try to tell me what the categories were. The "black" categories were *not* "black music" categories, they were "black musicians playing TOP 40" categories. Michael Jackson is *not* an R&B singer!!! The categories were EXCLUSIVELY for black singers. > And, let us not forget, the whole thing star- > ted when whites enslaved blacks, took them OUT OF THEIR HOMELAND AGAINST THEIR > WILL and forced them to work their land, with NO PAY, with NO HOPE of freedom. > They were OWNED by their masters, treated as CHATTEL, sold at the master's > wills, families split up, some were raped, some were killed trying to escape Look here, *I* didn't do any of those terrible things. If you believe that *I* should be punished for *their* crimes just because I have white skin, then you are just as racist as the people you denounce. > For any of you who think you are being discriminated because you are losing > things to minorities, why don't you try imagining being a minority for once > and knowing that doors are closed to you still because of who you are, and > that no matter what you do you cannot change your fate. Gawd, don't be a whiney wimp. Everybody in the whole friggin' world has doors that are closed no matter what they do. But instead of worrying about that, most of us simply go through the ones that are still open. When someone closes a door on *me*, well, that's *their* loss, not mine. -- Doug Pardee -- Terak Corp. -- !{hao,ihnp4,decvax}!noao!terak!doug
