The Globe and Mail had an item the other day.  The gist of it was that
there is now an Apple Consortium in Canada, so full-time students
and faculty (and staff?) of member universities will be able to get
Apple machines on campus for a discount rate.  So far, the only members
are York and Alberta, but "more are expected by the end of the year".
I don't think it applies to peripherals.
