(e.g. - "This is your book") *Not to be confused with: you're - contraction of "you are." (e.g. - "You're going to get it.") *And, its - third person possessive, singular pronoun. (e.g. - "Its height was ten meters.") *Not to be confused with: it's - contraction of "it is." (e.g. - "It's about time.") *And, there - location other than "here." (e.g. - "The book is over there.") *Not to be confused with: their - third person possessive, plural pronoun. (e.g. - "It is their book.") *Not to be confused with: they're - contraction of "they are". (e.g. - "They're not at home, so you can read it.") (* FLAME OFF! *) I don't care about grammar or syntax -- ask any compiler! Sometimes sentences which are decidedly "incorrect" are very effective methods of communicating. Tables of data or lists don't have to be structured to be useful. The above list contains many sentence fragments, but I am sure that you understand my point. However, one thing which certainly leads to misunderstanding is the substitution of a word which sounds like the correct word, but which has a completely different meaning. Come on - you all have mastered "to," "too," and "two." I'm sure you can handle "there," "their," and "they're." _______________________________________________________________ The above opinions are my own and do not represent those of TRW, my employer. --------------------------------------------------------------- Chris Stassen trwrb!trwspp!stassen "a lot" is two words!
