The doctor said it's bruised nerves from a combination of the vibration and riding position, that it's common in bikers, and heals slowly (viz: take a lot of aspirin & call me in 3 weeks). So, many questions: (1) Anyone else had this happen? If so, (2) What symptoms? How long did it last? (3) What was the treatment? Anything particularly good for the pain or numbness? Any thing or activity particularly bad (besides another cruise)? (4) How can I dampen this vibration best? Special grips? New bars? Maybe fill the ones I have with lead or something to change their resonant frequency? Rubber mounts on the triple clamp? (I had removed the standard, silly, uncomfortable pseudo-ape-hangers and put on some fairly straight K&N scrambling bars. Do these have a reputation for user-unfriendliness?) Please respond by mail. If this turns out to be a secret scourge that everybody gets but nobody talks about, I'll post a summary of responses. (Complete discretion assured, of course :-) I don't know anyone else who's had this problem from riding, and I've been at it for a while. Mostly not going very far, though. Well, I knew I should have taken my S-90. -- *** *** JE MAINTIENDRAI ***** ***** ****** ****** 15 Aug 84 [28 Thermidor An CXCII] ken perlow ***** ***** (312)979-7261 ** ** ** ** ..ihnp4!ihuxq!ken *** ***
