In a cheat version, I had level 60 armor and +20,+20 two-handed sword --when I got to around level 60 of the dungeon and quaffed a raise level which took me back to experience level 1, I couldn't hit anything at all (monster armor classes apparently increase). I was surrounded by monsters which couldn't hit me, but nor could I hit them. I also couldn't starve because I had the amulet (and a ring of slow digestion just for insurance). Maybe this qualifies as a "strange death"? Our cheat version is a perverted 5.3 which only gives friendly potions and scrolls, lots of plate mail and 2-handers, and one party room per level. Bill
