In my opinion, the issue is not whether she posed with another women or not, but the idea that she posed for a male photagrapher and was so STUPID (read, naive) to think the man would never do anything with those pictures, *especially* after she won the title of Miss America. This is a classic case of a women being HAD (read, taken advantage of) by yet another MAN. Why don't these women use their brains instead of their bodies? > As I understand the situation these pictures were taken a number > of years ago, long before she became Miss America. The newspaper publication here in Washington, D.C. said the pictures were taken in 1982. That doesn't seem like a very long time ago to me. > Of course I find beauty contests in general to be degrading as > well...Women should be considered much more than horseflesh. Gee, how much more than horseflesh should women be considered by men, I wonder. I believe that BOTH beauty contests AND posing nude for porn mags are degrading for women and they depict women as nothing more than flesh. (no "horse" about it buddy). It is also unfair to brainwash society FURTHER by making women AND men feel that if ALL women are not as beautiful or as well endowed or have as perfect a body as the women in beauty pagents or magazine's, that they are not REAL women and have no right to be alive. Are there contests held on national television or women photographed just because they happen to be very intelligent? I haven't heard of one yet. The way I interpreted GEORGE's comment on money in her pocket, and exactly what I thought about when I realized how much publicity she was going to get, is she may not have been paid by Penthouse, but think of her career boost. GEORGE was right when he said that she is going to be the Miss America everyone remembers. I am not going to apologize for this article sounding as harsh as it does. How else are men going to be educated to the fact that women are EQUAL to men, not just some piece of meat to be opressed and taken advantage of by men? The stupid women out there still posing for nude mags and entering beauty contests are making it hard to change the way men think. As long as there are these ignorant contests and nude mags, society will never be given the chance to consider women as equals to men. Marie Carey ...seismo!carey
