I heard Jim McKay make a boo-boo during the credits after the closing
ceremonies which was amusing. First a little explanation. Everytime you saw
one of those 'Up Close and Personal' spots, there was a graphic effect at the
beginning of a globe unfolding into a flat map. This effect is created using
a machine called a Mirage. Basically, creating the effect involves writing
a Pascal program on an HP3000 to tell the picture how to unfold. Well, there
was a credit for 'Mirage Programmer', and McKay interjected
"Mirage programmer? I don't even know what that is! I thought everything we
did was real!
