Following my article on the important role gun-carrying murderers
play in keeping the human population from over-crowding, I
received several complaints from readers who couldn't believe that
deer hunters really are concerned about "managing" deer populations for
the benefit of deer. I believe they overlooked the following:

- Hunters only hunt deer in overpopulated areas. They insist on
checking population levels before hunting.

- Hunters only shoot female deer. They know that the number of males
is pretty much irrelevant to population control.

- Hunters only try to shoot the unhealthy, weak members of the herd.
they have a system of evaluating the quality of mounted deer-heads
which places a premium on genetical defects and other deficiencies.

- Hunters mimic the actions of other deer predators as much as
possible, in order to ensure that the deer that escapes from them is
the sort of deer that ought to live and breed. Their methods of
loping on all fours, and pouncing down from trees are particularly
noteworthy.
