The manual says the lpr filters will drive a wide or narrow versatec but it doesn't give much information beyond that. It looks like the wide versatec is the default type of versatec. In 4.1 I linked /dev/vp to /dev/va and used /usr/lib/vad instead of /usr/lib/vpd to drive the V-80. This made it use the versatec driver but also tricked it into thinking it was narrow like a varian. Is this what other people do, or do you rewrite some code, or am I missing something? I would also like to see your printcap file to handle the V-80. Thanks.
