I am trying to build a TERMCAP for use with my Heath Z-100 PC. I
have tried different variations of the following termcap that someone
posted several months ago:

z100:\
	:bs:cd=\EJ:ce=\EK:cl=\EH\EJ:cm=5\EY%+ %+ :co#80:li#24:nd=\EC:\
	:pt:sr=\EI:up=\EA:ku=\EA:kd=\EB:kr=\EC:kl=\ED:\
	:al=\EL:dl=\EM:im=\E@:ei=\EO:so=\Ep:se=\Eq:dc=\EN:

This seems to work well for some people but not for me. I think the
problem is in the telecom software I am using. I use a program called
MTERM (this, the newest version [1.5] is supposed to support all the Z100
escape codes) put out by Micro-Systems Software for the Z100. Echoing
escape codes from the host computer seems to make the terminal do what it's
supposed to (reverse video, cursor addressing, etc. I haven't tried them
all) but the cursor gets lost when using vi. It doesn't even work
with the vt52 termcap (seems to have the same problems).

I have tried modifying the termcap by trial and error with little success
and much frustration. Is there anyone out there with a Z100 using MTERM
1.5 with a termcap that works? Can anyone point me to some documentation
or software avalible that is useful for testing a termcap? I don't really
have a clue as to where to start in changing the termcap to get vi to work
right. Maybe the problem can't be worked around by changing the termcap but
I would at least like to isolate the escape codes that aren't working right.
Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks,
