Those of you who were interested in swapping programs:

My experience is that for either VIC20 or C64, the old style datasette 
works pretty good.  If you use the ROM rabbit, transportability is not
always as good.  But worse still is the new style ( slimline) datasette.
It seems the levels aren't quite as high on the new style and taking a
program that was formatted on the new and then trying to get it to load
in the old one doesn't work very well.  I think that going the other way
is ok though.

This was my experience.  Anyone else please confirm/deny.  I think this
is of general interest to post on the net.
