"When we drop our flaps, we *drop* our flaps."

I hear (from a non-aviation oriented person) that
a certain cut-rate airline (far be it from me to name names)
dropped some part of their plane on to some guy's driveway
when they were approaching some airport. If this isn't bad enough,
apparently the first they heard about it was when the tower
stopped them from taking off for their next flight.

Can anybody out there fill in the gory details?
Thanks.
