I have been looking for a decent monitor to go with my VCR (Sony 2710) for several months. Some of the dealers really blow my mind. They tell you 'well we don't have a good antenna on that one' (how do they expect you to spend ~1000 bucks on a set whose picture looks awful) or 'oh that brand (Proton) is not a "mover" '. (apparently a non-mover is a set that will break as soon as you transport it to your home. I was told this by a dealer who sold NEC and MAGNAVOX.) I would like anyones comments and experiences with monitors especially the following brands: Sony Profeel (2501A) Proton (602M) - 25" monitor MGA (????) - 25" monitor NEC (????) - 25" monitor/tv Zenith (????) - 25" (HTV) monitor - any others ?? Also any info on low prices would be helpful. I have read some reviews and one author said his favorites were Proton, MGA, Jensen and Sony in that order. Actually I am leaning toward either Sony or Proton. At one dealer, a salesman there was an old friend of my fathers and could be trusted. He though that the Sony and Proton were about equals. (They did have a good antenna system and the pictures were very sharp) Enough rambling, sombody out there must be a video nut and I am open to opinions. TNX in advance.
