A friend is having made for me plates which say 'UUCP' (thank you
Marianne!).

By the way, in California, UNIX has been taken.  I have seen
UNIX WIZ and 3B UNIX in the Sunnyvale area, and the Big Book
of Plates at the DMV shows also that many of the biggies are
taken: UNIX V, UNIX III, UNIX V7....

And why are they called `vanity plates' anyway?  It doesn't
seem terribly vain, and you can't do your make-up in front of
them, so ...
