To the homosexuals-brought-down-the-Roman-empire group:

"Babies need not be the result of the sexual act, while improved bathing
facilities together with the American Mom's relentness circumcision of
boys has made the average human body a temptingly hygenic contraption
suitable for all sorts of experiment. To which the moralists can only
respond: Rome born again! Sexual license and excessive bathing, as
everyone knows, made the Roman effete and unable to stand up to the
stalward puritan savages from the German forests whose sacred mission
was to destroy a world gone rotten. This simplistic view of history is
a popular one, particularly among those who do not read history."

It's not so much what he says (which has already been said in this
notes group) but how he says it.
