MN Lines: 26 I'm not an expert in video equipment, so please excuse the confused terminology. I have a request for a friend from Turkey who is visiting me. She wants to copy some videotapes that she's seen in the US, so that she can see them when she's back in Turkey. These tapes are in VHS format; Turkey has all Beta format video recorders. Doing a VHS-to-Beta copy is no problem (we have both types of machines), but what we're worried about is the different number of lines per frame on Turkish (and European in general) TV. We have heard, from friends, that a Beta tape from England will not play on an American video recorder. Will she be able to play the Beta tapes that she records here on her Turkish machine? If not, are there any generally available converters or processes to send the videotape through in order to make the tape playable there? Please send all hints, ideas, rumors, and thoughts. Facts are especially welcome. Thank you, Anne Chenette ihnp4!umn-cs!digi-g!anne or chenette%umn-cs@CSNet-Relay
