Message-ID: <232@idi.UUCP> Date: Mon, 13-Aug-84 21:14:17 EDT Article-I.D.: idi.232 Posted: Mon Aug 13 21:14:17 1984 Date-Received: Tue, 14-Aug-84 04:57:18 EDT Organization: Intelligent Decisions, Saratoga, CA Lines: 21 I'm looking into satellite antenna/receiver systems, and was wondering if anyone has any recommendations (including systems to stay away from). I saw one I like made by Luxor, which includes an infrared remote which allows changing the dish's direction as well as changing transponder number. Has anyone used one of these? The sales guy I talked with seemed to think they are too complicated. As far as I can tell, the receiver seems to affect picture quality much more than dish size. Is 8 feet enough to get consistently good pictures? I'm also looking for a really good laser disk player. Mostly I want good picture/sound quality and a good remote control - other features only if they aren't at the expense of the first two. Price is important, too. Any suggestions? -- Rick Kiessig {decvax, ucbvax}!sun!idi!kiessig {akgua, allegra, amd, burl, cbosgd, decwrl, dual, ihnp4}!idi!kiessig Phone: 408-996-2399
