While I realize that it is a personal bias of mine (quite a personal
one, in fact), I've always had the feeling that makeup is often a
response to a feeling of inadequacy and a desire to seem (or be)
something one isn't (flaming me for this generalization would only
confirm my low opinion of some flamers).  C'mon, people:  be yourself,
because you *can't* succeed at being anybody else!
