Well, to those who like to drop the hammer on "punks" and "chair
warming automation wimps" here are the latest Charlotte Arbitrons hot
off the press:

     WSOC-FM (Automated country-TM Country Lovin ??) 17.3 up 0.1
     WPEG-FM (Drake-Chenault SuperSoul) 10.8 steady
     WBT 7.7 down 3
     WBCY (Jumped two places)-CHR (WBT-FM) 7.1 down 0.6
     WROQ CHR-MTV bent (Burkhardt/Abrahms cons.) 5.8 down 1
WEZC Mellow rock 5.7 down 0.1
WJZR Up to 7th from 12th (Only hits, regardless) 5.4 up 2.6

WJZR reports that they were getting a 10 in the Birch report which
is a bit higher (the numbers don't compare) with respect to the other
stations. When this is correctly weighted, it shows that WJZR (a station
which has been on the air 1 year with CHR, was religious) has had audience
gains derived DIRECTLY FROM THE OTHER CHR STATIONS. In other words, the
total radio listening universe didn't agree.

And WPEG didn't lose a single ratings point to CHR audience dilution.

Copycat CHR fm's. Audience dilution. I love it.

(One of those FM's (all except WBT) will *HAVE* to change format, or the
differences between more and more stations will be less and less until
no station has any ratings at all......)
