Flash from the old world!

Prof. Alistair Mant (from London) is in town (Boston) hawking his latest
book, LEADERS WE DESERVE.

The premise is that workers like those leaders who can laugh at the idea
that work has any meaning, hence laugh at themselves (and the workers too
it seems). It's all just a big joke! But by whom and on whom???

Anyway, it's the best stuff out of the old country since "I'm All Right Jack",
staring Peter Sellers. Actually work in the non-market driven countries (you
know who THEY are) IS a joke. The standard line there is, "They pretend to pay
us and we pretend to work".

The problem is what happens when the joke gets stale? "Man cannot live by joke
alone." Enter Brian hanging on the cross singing, "life is shitty" - another
contribution from the other side. What's going ON over there?

Hang tough America! The world's a stage as one of them once said and all the
best clowns are across the water.

Can't wait for the next act. It's a break from work.

Regards,

Ken Arndt
