The onslaught of the two 220-Mhz petitions brings home to me at least
the difficulty for almost all of us in responding QUICKLY to proposals
to change the Amateur rules. In a previous message (forwarded kindly
by Keith Petersen) I suggested that (more accurately, wondered out loud)
the FCC Notices be somehow made available electronically, via, say,
BBoard systems or electronic mailing lists such as this one.

I propose that the ARRL might be in a good position to provide
such a service.

I for one would be willing to endure yet another dues increase to
finance the service; or, if that were not popular (impacting most
members while perhaps only a few would use the service), paying a
reasonable charge for using the service.

Hopefully providing the service would not be construed as "lobbying"
(this would be a SERIOUS problem if it were...).

Comments?
