The Air Force sent a memo to The Boeing Company asking that
the following words be deleted from existing technical orders:
manpower, daisychain, female connector, male plug, RATT relay,
camel hair, motherboard, and daughterboard. "The above list
should not be considered to be all inclusive," explained the memo
from contracting officer John J. Pickles. "The general rule of
thumb is, if a word connotes sexual or animal overtones, it should
not be used." Animal overtones? How about asinine?

The part that really caught my eye is the name of this Air Force rep.
Talk about connotations!
