The most flagrant 'unsportsmanlike' conduct I've seen so far in the
Games was last night (8/8) in the men's volleyball when a member
of the Canadian team 'flipped the bird' at the net judge. This doesn't
mean that ALL CANADIANS are poor sports, but then again, neither are
ALL AMERICANS.
I don't particularly like the TV coverage my self, so I watch it on
tape. It takes about 2 hours to watch a 4 1/2 hr tape when you eliminate
all the ads and "up close and personal" BS.
Next to Howard Cosell, Diana Nyad is my least favorite commentator. Her
voice is unpleasant and always hoarse. I also can't think of her as a
legitimate sports figure: Did she ever compete in a legitimate sport?
All I can remember is all those over-hyped "Swim From Bahamas" that she
never finished.
Have you noticed how Eric Heiden calls everyone, even women, "Guys"?
He interviewed Connie Carpenter and Rebecca Twig and kept asking "So what
were you guys thinking about when .....?"

To all them furreners complaining about the Olympics: Why don't you
get off your socialist asses, go to work, build a society which can feed
and support yourself, start your own broadcasting company, bid competitively
against other companies and nations for the Olympics and the right to
broadcast them? But don't stop bitching while standing in the breadline!!
Oh, no!! We believe in freedom of speech here.
