Lines: 5 In John Irving's "The World According to Garp", there's a section where the witer Garp replies to a reader who considers him an insensitive boor for writing a black comedy. Read his letter (I think it's about a third of the way into the book, typeset differently from the rest of the book) for a well-stated writer's view of black humor.
