Actually, I think Prentiss's line did arise there at one time.  The
song went through several abortive versions in the strip; you may
recall the competing ``Bark us all bow-wows of folly'', for example.
The last full verse that appeared (I think) was:

Deck the halls with Boston Charley!
Walla Walla Wash., and Kalamazoo.
Nora's freezing on the trolley;
Swaller dollar cauliflower alley-garoo....

No spelling flames, please.
