I am quite surprised that Kenn Berry thinks that women asking men out is
such a rare occurance. I ask men out frequently since doing activities
with other people is so much fun. If I am interested in a man, I present
myself friendly and casually with sincere interest. Everyone seems to
like attention, and what better way to give someone attention than to
spend time with them? I think the problem comes from expectations. If
you ask someone out with the intention of starting a relationship with
them, well jeez, no wonder there is so much room for let down. On
the other hand, I have found that if I am sincere and happy and up,
I can pretty much go out and have a fun time with the man that I want
to get to know better. Sometimes he doesn't even know I am interested,
so there is no way he would have made the first move. I'm not afraid
of men. You know, everyone puts their shorts on one leg at a time, sort
of thing. To me, asking a man out does not necessarily imply that I want
to mess around. I don't go into asking a man out with the intention
of starting some torrid affair. Now if something develops into one... :-)
I go into it unexpectingly. No expectations, no let downs. Actually,
what I want to know is, why don't people just go for the gusto? Take
the risk, the reward is lots of fun.
