CS Dept. Lines: 11 Somebody noted that the technical quality of the CBC's coverage of the LA Olympics is almost as good as ABC's, in spite of the vast difference in the two network's budgets. That's not too surprising, since the CBC coverage originates from ABC. What people seemed to have missed in this is that ABC is really providing two broadcasts of the games. A jingoistic one for its USA affiliates and what is supposed to be a more balanced one for the rest of the world (which is required by their contract with the IOC). It sounds like many would rather have the presumably more balanced world-wide coverage than the hyped-for-home-consumption version.
