Subject: Looking for laser printer compatable with Versatec (also more help)
To: entropy!uw-june!uw-beaver!laser-lovers

We are planning to purchase a CAE workstation and need a plotter or
graphics device to go with it. We are also planning to buy a laser
printer for our VAX750 (4.2BSD) in the near future for both
documentation and graphics and would like to fill both needs with one
device. The CAE system is available with a variety of non laser
interfaces such as for a Versatec. Does anyone know of any laser
printer interfaces which would be plug compatible with a Versatec? I
believe that Talaris will support an electrical interface but the
software will be completely different. I understand there is a problem
because most laser printers will not print over the page breaks. (We
would also like to be able to run Cifplot etc.)

I would also appreciate any general information about which printers
people are happy with (also support software, fonts, etc.) We will be
using the printer for medium quantities of lightweight documentation
(no troff pros here) and for graphics. We are all new to this and any
and all help will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
