The netnews system can only be effective if the newsgroups are used for their
proper purpose, and not diluted by extraneous items.
I think the recent spoof letter (from "Ronald Reagan" to "Hinkley")
is a flagrant violation of this principle, as well violating other customs.
Let's leave the jokes on net.jokes, and restrict each newsgroup to its
appropriate purpose.
