It does happen occasionally, it would be nice if it happened more.  I remember
once, a woman who was interested in me asked one of her friends to tell me
she was interested.  It is very much a matter of social conditioning:  when I
was living in Denmark, I would always get asked to dance by women there, but
it never happens here (at least not by ones I don't already know :-).
