I am interested in comparing notes with anyone who has taken the time to
decipher Grateful Dead lyrics, especially for the more recent tunes
we all have on tape, but are not on any album. At the moment I am working
on:

  Day Job
  Brother Esau
  West LA Fade Away
  Touch Of Grey
  Throwing Stones

I would also be interested in:

  Mexicali Blues
  Althea
  Shakedown Street
  Man Smart ... Woman Smarter

Usually 95% of the words are obvious, or I usually have a good guess,
but often I see different versions of the same lines in our signoffs etc.

The problem I have, especially with the newer songs, is that if I compare
versions from different tapes, the words ofter are *really* different.
Jerry especially seems to like mixing up the lines, as long as they rhyme.

Respond by E-mail via the path below, unless you feel the lyrics are of
interest to the music community in general.

You better keep it on ice while your linin' up your long shot."
