It may come as a surprise to some, but ALL of the feeds of the
Olympic tv coverage is being handled by ABC. They feed two
different pictures. One for home consumption and the other for
International consumption. ABC was, however, hit with Rule 51
on Saturday. This rule states that the tv coverage is to be
unbiased. The feeds for home consumption were cited by the USOC
as being too biased. ABC has apparently moved to rectify the
situation by broadcasting other events.

All of this aside, I think that ABC should move to shut Howard
Cosell's mouth. That idiot is not even in the same gym with
the fights I have seen. He does nothing but praise the
American fighters, even when they are getting tagged by
the other guy. I watched one Friday night where the other
fighter nearly floored our guy in round one and old Howard
said the blow was blocked. The kids eyes glazed over with the
shot and only the bell saved him.

I, for one, am getting more than a little embarrased with
all of the medal hype. I have found myself rooting for the
other atheletes more than once lately. On the other hand,
Joan Benoit's marathon was one I could cheer about. She
was beautiful in her accomplishment. At least this was
one event that the Eastern Block countries can not claim
they would have won. The best any of their people have done
is third in over 2:30.
