When you say you don't want me to force my opinion on you, are you arguing that the majority should never force its will on the individual, or that it should not do so for topics X, Y, and Z? (Who decides what X, Y, and Z are?) I don't see any "fundamental" difference between the majority forcing me not to kill my fellow humans and the majority taking my money to benefit my fellow man.
