Cuz no one never show'd us how??? You won't buy that, hunh? Okay. 1. Makeup may be part of the dress code for women, but it's not for men. See discussion in #3. 2. It may be lotsa fun; I don't know. I'll bet Jeff Sargent has an opinion, since he does theatre. It's GOTTA be more fun than lifting weights, which men have done for #3. 3. Improving one's appearance means that MOST, OTHER people think you look better that way. For women, this is so, although they run the risk that some men and women will think them ugly, vain, shallow, and defective for wearing makeup. For men, the odds are reversed: some men and women will think he looks better, but most will think the man vain, stupid, gay, weird, you-name-it. People are used to seeing women made-up, so they do not think it strange. They DO think it strange to see a man made-up. Few people like to be thought strange. Therefore, men don't wear makeup. The same argument does not hold for women. Now, one followup question is: is it useful to lay the foundation so that men can feel free to use makeup, or are we men (and our skin) better off without it? What about the "fun" of facial art? Are we being denied our right to autograffiti ?!?! What about being able to coverup those little mistakes on that mask we wear, with another layer of mask? I see a mistake reflected in this CRT screen.... Maybe we should organize National Men's Makeup Day, and dress (so to speak) for the occasion? Think how much prettier the world would be! Time to stop, I'm losing control. Scott D. Anderson decvax!ittvax!anderson 203-375-0200 X 451
