According to BYTE, May 1984, page 494 (I read all the way to the back!):

An organization acts as a clearinghouse for donated computer equipment.
They aid nonprofit associations requiring computers (and peripherals,
software, supplies), but unable to afford them.  Donations are tax
deductible.  I have no personal experience with them.  Contact:
