Fujitsu, Micom, Rixon, Concord Data Systems, Racal-Vadic, Universal Data Systems
and a host of other companies (including ATT) all market 2400 baud full-duplex
dialup modems with prices that vary from $795 (Micom) to over 1900 (Vadic).

Most use a V.22 bis protocol, and can run vanilla V.22 at 1200 baud. In
some cases (but not all) V.22 can talk to Bell 212. The Vadic Quadmodem
(if is actually shipping) uses a proprietary protocol for 2400 baud, which
might be more robust, but I doubt its worth that much money. Last time I
looked, the quadmodem was available only in a rackmount configuration.

Ahem. If you have expensive tastes, be aware that Anderson Jacobsen makes
a model 4048 - 4800 baud full duplex dialup; if you sign a sales contract
with 'em you can get it with error correction for $2100/end. There is
also a French firm ('TRT') marketing a 4800 baud full-duplex dialup modem.

I've been told that the AJ 4048 is error-prone, so don't get it sans
error-correction!
