I was surprised and pleased to see the article about the casting
of Dune (an immense book, soon to be an elephantine movie). This is
something I've been doing for years. It's better than jacks!

Casting exercises can be a good way of getting a handle on what
a movie is REALLY about, and they can give you a new perspective on any
number of things (try casting your own life with actors from TV movies)
in addition to being a truly good time. If you get bored with crossword
puzzels, and there's nothing bad enough on TV, try this one:

	THE ROCKY HORROR MUPPET SHOW

	(with apologies to no one)

It started out easy, casting Gonzo as Rif-Raf and Link Hogthrob as Brad.
This would naturally lead to Miss Piggy as Janet, and Dr. Strange Pork as
Dr. (von) Scott. Animal would have to be Eddie. Now it gets tricky.

We are still left with Frankenfurter, Rocky, a noted (neckless)
criminologist, Magenta, Colombia, and a whole slew of minor types.

Worse still, how do we fit Kermit into this mess? I had originally thought
of making him Brad, and religating Link and Anny Sue Pig to the roles of
Ralph and Betty Habshatts, but Kermit is missing Brad's major (only?)
personallity trait. Showbiz is harder than I thought. Maybe I should stick
to programming.

Well, how about it, netland. Any ideas?

Even smiling makes my face ache.
