I read in EE Times that apparently Intel has dropped its
Merlan proposal in favor of Cheapernet. Still a contender
for IEEE approval is ATT's S LAN, which uses "already
installed twisted-pair telephone cables". I wasn't aware
there was that much extra capacity in my telephone cables.
Anyone from ATT care to comment?
