I attended one water polo event and three wrestling events, and , in
general, was very pleased. The audiences were nicer, cleaner and more
courteous than for other sports events i have attended. But i was
really upset at the behavior of the audiences in one respect: whenever
an official made a call against a U.S. athlete, or for a non-U.S.
athlete competing against a U.S. one, the boos were so loud they often
downed out the P.A. system. This, in spite of the fact that every
referee call i saw in wrestling was a good call. [I used to wrestle
and referee matches, myself.]

Well, at least there was always clapping instead of booing for the
victor, no matter who won, and during the awarding of the medals.

P.S. You don't have to remind me that this happens in other countries,
too. I'm only making a point of information.
