In the light of the topological limericks someone posted, I have yielded
again to temptation:

     A topologist quite algebraic
     Computed the groups of Passaic.
       The streets were so looped
       It made him quite pooped
And gave him a nervous headaic.

     Topologist L.E.J.Brouwer
Said, flouting the party in power:
       "I foster sedition
       With my intuition,
     I'm a p or not p disavower,"
And he added with great intrepidity,
"In view of the masked invalidity,
       You'll come to regret
       Of an infinite set
     Its treacherous tertium non-quiddity."

     A topologist named R.L.Moore
     Tried keeping topology pure.
       Point sets in the plane
       Were his special domain
Though he looked into 3-space, I'm sure.

Georg Cantor threw out middle thirds
Til he broke down and uttered these words:
       "I may go insane
       Because there remain
     These absurdly uncountable surds."
