I hope that this hasn't been already been beaten to death, but does anyone
think that McCoy's line  ``You did what you always do, Jim:  What you had to.''
(or whatever the actual quote is) was far more typical of Spock than of McCoy?
Given that Spock was stored in McCoy, and that we've heard Spock speak out in
times of great stress before, wouldn't it be reasonable?  Could it have been
written this way?
