I recently finished my IFR training for the rating, and I concur that
headphones, the hood, and eyeglasses don't mix well. I once landed at
Pueblo after an ILS practice approach, and wondered why the tower didn't
tell me to contact ground control; I finally realized that I had (unconsciously)
taken off the headset so that I could take off the hood before landing.
After all that awful hood-time, I think I'll almost be relieved to get some
actual IMC.
