[ Just in case..]

I am considering building a microprocessor based engine
control (and instrumentation) system for my 1975 Toyota Cel-
ica GT. (This particular car is beat up enough that I am
not afraid of screwing around with it.) I am doing this as
a learning experience. (My time would be much better spent
working and saving the money for a new car if my only intent
was a better car.) Has anyone out there done anything simi-
lair? Can anyone recommend some books and magazines on this
topic? (I am quite familiar with microprocessors and digi-
tal electronics, and have an understanding of analog elec-
tronics and automotive fundamentals.) If there is a maga-
zine dedicated to or featuring lots of technical articles
related to this subject I would like to subscribe to it. In
general I would like to stimulate some discussion in
net.auto on this subject. I have a book called "Understand-
ing Automotive Electronics", published by the Texas Instru-
ments Learning Center and available at Radio Shack ($3.95, I
believe) that provides good background info - I DO recommend
it to anyone else who is interested.

                                Thanks in Advance,
                                        Michael Sean Gilligan
