Text: Not necessarily "contradicting each other."  We do in fact (I checked
the label on the machine) have Imagewriters rated to work on 220/240 volts
50 Hz power.  That does not mean that the 60 Hz model will not work on
50 hz with a 220 to 110 volt step-down transformer.  I suspect (do not
know) that the two versions of the machines have different motors in them.
If so, the 60 Hz motor will run hotter on 50 Hz.  And the motor may
operate okay or fail earlier than rated, depending on how robust it is.
It may also run slower.  You now know what I know, whoever you are.
The "yes or no?" is, of course, your decision.
