I know of two other machines of medium age that have shown this problem. Get a LM309K five volt regulator in a TO3 package and perform surjury on your power supply. The regulator that is in there presently is not a TO3 - it is something not commonly available. It would probably do you good to try your machine with a friend's power supply on your 64. Also, are you sure you have plugged in the power supply with the proper orientation into the 64? Some people I know have fried a ROM or two by doing this.
