For those of you who care, Velo-News reports that Francesco successfully
attacked Eddy Merckx's long-standing hour record in Mexico City recently.
Riding a $35,000 bicycle on a cement track that had been coated with varnish
to smooth it, Moser covered 50.8 kilometers in the hour, 1.4 more than the
older record.  Moser also broke the 5 Km and 10 Km records in the process.

Incidentally, Moser also said that if Merckx had had the benefit of modern
technology, he would have gone over 51 Km...
