I suspect this is all the apology I am ever going to get. That's OK,
as I am not really offended by Polli, just amused. Now, look at this
latest contribution, and see if you can tell who Polli is really
describing.

"making up facts:"
Me? Name one of them. I'll bet I can find a source. Now, look
at Polli's articles. The first one claims that the US refuses to
give away farm surplus food in order to keep domestic food prices
high. Wrong. The second one claims that my proposal is like
Stalin starving the peasants in Ukraine. Also wrong.

"trying to insult people who disagree with you:"
Don't make me laugh. This is the man who writes: "If you want to
see an ugly American, Mr. Renner, just find a mirror." "I hope you
don't profess to be a Christian, Mr. Renner. You are a disgrace
     to the human race."

"not bothering to respond to the issues raised:"
I have responded to every issue I could find in Polli's article. The
issue-to-noise ratio was fairly low. If anyone thinks I've missed
one, mail me and I'll respond to it too. On Polli's part, all he's done
is repeat his claims that my ideas are abominable, immoral, and
     un-Christian.

Oh well, enough. I'm going to post this in net.flame. If Mr. Polli will
cooperate, we can transfer this little exchange over there, or perhaps
conduct it privately through the mails. Or maybe we'll get real lucky and
he will start sending to /dev/null.
