Mirrors do not reflect left/right. Mirrors simply reflect light at angles (nearly) equal to the incident angle of that light. You perceive it that way because of your gravitational bias. Stand on the wall and you'll be saying instead, "Why do mirrors reflect up/down and not left/right", assuming you do not rename directions because of your new perspective.
