(Ref msg asked "what is KERMIT?")

If you're serious, look to COLUMBIA-20 for some of the documentation,
discussions, archives, etc. Or look on your local host
KERMIT.*.* for the manual and/or protocol.

Basically a packetizing, error-trapping file transfer program that'll work with
a VAST number of different systems. The key is each different micro/mini/
mainframe (KERMIT for a 360 even) has its own KERMIT, which understands its own
environment. Each KERMIT knows how to use the standard KERMIT protocols to
talk with other KERMITs.

Sucker works GOOD!
