If this is the problem you are having, the answer is simple: you need a new flasher. This is the device that makes your turn signals and emergency flashers, blink. If you have an american car, getting one should not be much of a problem. You will probably be able to pick up a flasher at any auto parts store for your make and model. The cost should be from $6-12. However, if you have an import, you will probably have to go an auto dealer who carries your make of car, and go to their parts and service section. You will probably find the cost of your part much more than an american car part. In the case of my Mazda GLC wagon (1981), my flasher cost me $32! Once you get the flasher, it should be pretty easy for you to replace (I did mine, and I'm NO mechanic). Go to your local mechanic and ask him if he can point it out to you. It will probably be under the dashboard, in the general area left of the steering column. Once you find it, unplug it (don't force it because there may be a screw or two holding it in place that you may have to remove first). Then replace it with the new one. Test your turn signals, and everything should work. By the way, you might try testing your current flasher just to make sure that the malfunction isn't caused by a loose plug connection to the flasher. I hope this helps. But if you are in doubt, ASK YOUR MECHANIC! Good luck. Jim Collymore
