A few thought about the latest spew of titles:

REALLY GOOD:
American Flagg: At such a constant high level, what can I say?
Jon Sable: Another Goodie.... I wasn't associated with Vietnam
any way, but it sounds authentic to me... Take a look.
A Distant Shore: The new Warp (Elfquest) title... a little too
talkative this issue, but shows potential for continuous
		good sci-fi.
Journey:	Keeps getting better every issue... The british Lord
is so well played here, he comes off as both foppish,
sardonic and quite likable. Also, Aardvark-Vanhiems first
cross-over for characters from another title (you'll never
believe which one). Maybe the best title this month.
Others: Cerberus, New TT, Star Trek (Haw! Glad to see Barr resolve
one of the worst Star Trek problems of all time... see for
		yourself), Love & Rockets.

GOOD:
X-Men: I finally figured out while I like this title so much...
despite Claremonts much-publicized failings, he has the
uncanny (no pun intended) ability to make a few things
belivable. Sen. Robert Kelly's mutant witch hunt is
underway; somehow, as long as we have a good economy, I have
a feeling the American people would put up with this; Chris
knows political apathy as well as anyone. PS... loved the
		Japanese monster In-Jokes ("What? It's the off-season!").

Whisper: Lots of rough edges still around, but it could go either
		way right now.
Alpha Flight: Nothing fantastic (another bad pun), just good,
		interesting plotting.
Green Lantern:	Len Wein has put this on the right track.

FAIR,BAD,AWFUL:
New Mutants:	You're right, why DO I read it? (Mental commands
		from Ford Fairmont, most likely).
Beowulf:	Art & Story are boring... so much for the FIRST
		hype...
Normalman:	First Dog from Aardvark-Vanheim... one or two issues
of this can be funny, but this can't last forever.
Rom: Violence cannot hide the fact that Bill Mantlo cannot
		write anything original AT ALL!
The Marvel Fummetti book:	The only thing that would have been
funny about this would be if they had a picture of Jim
Shooter being tossed out the window... and the picture still
wouldn't be in focus (did like the one with Simonsin,
though). Jim Engel and Chuck Fiala have nothing to worry
		about...

RANDOM NOTES:
Aardvark-Vanhiem has taste... their next title will be Flaming
Carrot, one of the best humor comics I've ever seen ("Where's the
radio on this thing? It's time for Paul Harvey")... I recommend it
to you highly. Now if they could just get Honkeytonk Sue....

Does anyone understand the two issues of New teen Titans or Legion?
Could they explain it to me (please?)?

How is Elliot Maggin's stuff on Superman? Anyone know he's running
for Congress ("Into a Capitol storage closet and......")

Till next month...
