    There has been some discussion on the net recently regarding the
 apparent increase in size of the moon when viewed on the horizon as
 opposed to viewing overhead.

    Can someone clear the air on this one? Does the moon appear larger
 when viewed near the horizon due to an atmospheric affect, or is it
 an optical illusion, or...?
