An interesting treatment of quality is contained in the book, "Zen and the
Art of Motorcycle Maintenance." I liked it, though I don't agree with it.
If you truly wish to learn about quality your best bet is to read Plato's
Dialogues, my favorite is the Gorgias! That is at the roots of what we (in
western civilization) call Quality. Another interesting look at true
quality is Tom Wolfe's book, The Right Stuff. The movie isn't bad either.
Chuck Yeager, now that is quality!!

P.S. Some discussion in the area of quality would be very interesting!!
How about it? I didn't give my views because I'm the type of person
who sits back, sees which way the discussion is going and then throws
a wrench in the works of the discussion.
