My PC (usually running Coherent) has the standard XT disk and a 17 Meg 
Miniscribe where the floppy would normally be placed (the floppy is
in a separate case out in my work area, not in the machine room).
It runs like a champ -- I use the XT disk as /usr and the Miniscribe
as / and /u.  In fact, my particular XT was already fully wired for
the second hard disk -- I just pulled out the floppy and popped in
the Miniscribe (after checking on power and heating factors, of course.)
I currently run 25 Meg total disk for Coherent and 2 Meg for MSDOS; both
co-exist without problems...
