  Why isn't it logical for Spock to want to get Pike, someone
whom he greatly respected, back to a place where he *knew* he could
have an *infinitely* better life?  Spock's apparently illogical actions 
were based on information that he had which Kirk did not, i.e that the
Talosians could provide an illosory perfect life for Pike. As for why he 
didn't confide in Kirk, as he said at his trial, "and ask you to risk the
death penalty too?" That would be illogical!
