I am a newcomer to the Usenet and was recently "Enlightened" as to the
inappropriateness of using net.general for geographically limited information.
My "Enlightenment" included some of the following reprimands:

    1. I should make use of geographical news groups for such information.

    2. I should post such information to net.misc.

    3. My information was not of general interest so should not have been
       posted to net.general.

These responses bring to mind the following questions:

    1. Could someone inform me as to the availability and use of geographically
       limited news groups?

    2. What is the appropriate use of net.misc verses net.general?

               Thanks for your attention,

               Rick Moll
