Examples: Bank of Naperville (where I bank, for convienence rather than price) free checking if over $400 (we always pay the $5.00) unlimited checks/month and no per-check fee saving charge only if under $25.00 free 24-hour tellers, and the number of tellers in the system grows regularly. They belong to the OMNI 24-hour system, and also have a 24-hour teller where I work. (Bell labs, naperville) balances on demand, free travel service, licence plate service many other services. ($2 for licences, others free) Gary-Wheaton Bank free checking if over $100 no per-check fee savings charge only if below 25.00 24-hour tellers, including one at work There is another bank locally ( I think it is Heritage Federal ) that has free checking without a minimum requirement. And all the banks accept direct-deposit arrangements with our employer or the government or nearly any other unit that disperses funds. Shop around. If your bank doesn't give you the service you want, it doesn't deserve the use of your money, no matter how little that may be. -- ________ ( ) Don Stanwyck @( o o )@ 312-979-3062 ( || ) Cornet-367-3062 ( \__/ ) ihnp4!ihuxr!stanwyck (______) Bell Labs @ Naperville, IL
