To prevent varnish in the carburetors, why not turn off the petcock
at the tank and let the bike run until it runs out?  THEN you can
put stabilizer into what's left in the tank.  After cleaning the
varnish out of my Yamaha's carbs one year I started doing this
also to stored automobiles.
