The Computer and Networking Technology Department (D34) at MITRE,
Bedford, Massachusetts, has an opening in a five-person project at Bedford for
someone to participate in the design and implementation of an Information
Handler that facilitates the movement of data among IBM mainframes within the
CMS environment and the evaluation of CMS-based workstations which includes
studying the stand-alone CMS processing to off-load the processing burder on
the IBM host, 3270 terminal emulation for interactive sessions and file
transfers between workstation and host. The individual should be familiar
with the VM/CMS operating system and EXEC 2. Familiarity with RSCS is
essential, as well as an understanding of current IBM file transfer mechanisms.
Experience with IBM assembly language programming would be desirable.

This position will require an ability to work with the customer in
designing the Information Handler, achieving design approval, implementing the
Information Handler, and aiding in the installation and testing on the
customer's system. Future work could include expanding the Information Handler
to include the transfer of data between an IBM mainframe and a CMS-based
workstation.

Candidates should have a BS degree, a minimum of two years experience
in IBM operating systems, and clear technical writing and oral presentation
skills. Current TS/SCI access would be very helpful. For more information,
contact Sara C. P. Orr, (617) 271-3397.
