I think that Team USAs protest of some of the Canadian
players eligibility is DISGUSTING! Have you all forgot
that Canada is our close FRIEND and neighbor? The USA
doesn't seem to have many friends these days so what do
we do is go out and aggrevate Canada. So the USA got a few
Canadians disqualified for dubious reasons-- what purpose did
it serve? It only fired up the Canadians more in the opening
contest. Whoever made the decision to protest such players,
be it coach Vairo (sp) or whomever ought to never be allowed
to participate in US olympic activities again. The person is a nut.
Now don't go giving me this "but they were professionals with
NHL contracts" arguements. I don't know all the ins and outs but
it seems to me at least one of the USA players is contracted to
play in the NHL, e.g. Pat Lafontaine (sp) for the NY Islanders.
Did Canada come down on us for this? NO WAY. They have some
sense of fair play and honor. Too bad Team USA did not. I wish
you well Canada and I for one am sorry for what my country's
Team USA did to you. I hope it will never happen again.
