I know the Physics prelim problems stated thus far on the net
have been of the no pencil and paper type, but this one does
require a small scrap of paper and a writing implement of your
choice:

Everyone knows about sunburn.  Everyone also knows that you
cant get sunburned by sitting at a closed window, regardless of how
much light is coming in through the glass.  Using these two bits of information,
estimate Planck's constant.  No reference material may be consulted.
