Message-ID: <575@dalcs.UUCP> Date: Tue, 14-Feb-84 15:28:28 EST Article-I.D.: dalcs.575 Posted: Tue Feb 14 15:28:28 1984 Date-Received: Sat, 18-Feb-84 03:09:34 EST Organization: Dalhousie U, Halifax N.S. Lines: 16 I heard the following two (related) rumors. 1) Richard Stallman was going to Berkley. consequence: there would soon be a free emacs for the VAX. 2) He was starting work on a programming environment GNU (GNU is Not UNIX). I was wondering what he was, in fact, doing. Also, was he accepting help or commentaries on GNU. The concept of an operating system/editor/programming environment written by Stallman (a la emacs) is facinating, and I would like to get in on it. Please send me any information or leads that you have. reg -- reg (Reg Hody, Dalhousie University, Halifax, Nova Scotia. B3H 4H8) ({...decvax}!dartvax!dalcs!hody)
