Lines: 18 O.K. folks, we all watched Team USA get beaten pretty bad in these Olympics. Everyone is comparing them to the '80 team. WHY? Yes, the '80 team was pretty good. They did win the Gold medal. It was also one of the most lucky per- formances I ever did see. Now, the new Team USA, '84 version, was expected to put out the same type of performance? For some reason, the '80 team had the right stuff. A good coach, decent players, and, probably one of the more im- portant points, they were skating on home ice. Team USA, '84 version, didn't have these things. Granted, they had a decent coach, decent players, and the like, but they just couldn't put it together. Now, Team USA beat (and please correct me if I'm wrong) Team Canada 9 times during the 15 or so times that they played in the US and Canada. Why couldn't they pull off the same during the Olympics? They weren't skating on their home ice with massive crowds cheering them on to victory. That's why. Oh,well, enough hashing on about such depressing subjects. By the way, are there any more Islanders fans out there? I am having trouble finding any here in New Mexico.......... Ron "Not quite all here" Rosul@nmtvax, New Mexico Tech Socorro, New Mexico.
