They tend to move at about the highest speed they (safely?) can on a given strech of road, and have CB's, so they know when to slow down for wherever-state's Finest. If the route doesn't have lots of 4% grdes, and if no one is too highly loaded (weight, I mean), then I try to follow truckers. But.... ///FLAME ON\\\ Is it worth it? Normally, normally, everything is ok. But (according to Fedral statistics, which the Libnetters think are a wast of their money), most truckers willingly violate the 10 hour law, most use amphetamines, and just lots of accidents with a truck are fatal for the other party. Also, although truckers pay about 2-4% of highway taxes (also not a favorite with Libnetters, sorry) in the form of gas taxes, they do 'bout 50-75% of the wearing out of our woefully undermaintained interstates. Often, they are overweight and divert through secondary routes to avoid scales. We pay for all of that. Looked at your highways recently? You know whom to thank for the warped seams and chuckholes. \\\flame off/// I still don't think tht truckers have much of a choice, given our current system. Anyone for Europe-style electric trains and new track? D.B. Kay Dartmouth College - Look on my works, oh ye mighty, and giggle....
