Two developmental psychologists were strolling in the
neighborhood of their university, on the edge of a city out west where
people in the suburbs keep horses. They saw a small boy sitting on
the grass by the side of the street, playing with horse manure.
"Very interesting - playing with manure," said one of the
developmental psychologists - "let's see if we can find out what he
thinks about the manure."
They approached cautiously, asked the boy his name, and gradually
overcame his shyness. "What are you doing?" one of the developmental
pschologists asked.
.... "Playin' wit' doo-doo," the small boy said.
"And what are you doing with the doo-doo?" the man persisted.
	... "Makin' a stat-choo."
"What are you making a statue of?"
	... "My daddy."

  [developmental psychologists exchange significant glances]

"And why are you making a statue of your daddy?"

	... "Cuz I ain't got near enough doo-doo to make a stat-choo
	     of a developmental pschologist..."
