Turning from hunger to a possibly less important topic:

Some time ago (back in high school) I recall reading that Canadian
broadcast facilities were restricted from playing American records
(whatever that means--do Joni Mitchell, Neil Young, Gordon Lightfoot,
Guess Who, Ann Murray, etc. count?) save during some ridiculous
hours of the night. I also recall reading in an issue of the late
*Electronics Illustrated* reports of Canadian jamming of American TV
stations near the border.

Is this, as SCTV might call it, "a Canadian fact?" (Perhaps it's no
longer in effect--I've heard Radio Canada International's 1800 GMT
broadcasts to Africa playing non-Canadian records recently.) Information
from Canadian net-users would be greatly appreciated.
