Could it be that many of those "new advances in Science" were quoted from
a single book, or a series of related books?  It might be nice to give
credit.  I believe I read many of these in the book of "boners", published
in the late 30's or early 40's.  I don't remember the author, but the
illustrator was Dr. Seuss, using his real name (Ted Geisel, I think).
