The concensus of opinion is that The Ice Palace had to be destroyed for any or all of these reasons... 1) It's locations was common knowledge, and the keen gadgets inside could be used and abused by the next Lex Luthor to come along. 2) The 3 baddies were trapped inside, and were thus imprisoned/destroyed in the explosion. 3) The Superpower drainer was destroyed, so it would no longer tempt Superman to become mortal, nor endanger his powers when the world again needed him in the TaDa Nick of Time. I still feel sorry for poor Lois though. Better to have loved and lost and remembered about it that to have been brain-drained. John Rosenberg at AT&T Tech. Naperville Il. {ihnp4!} ihuxa!johnnyr
