The answer is yes. However, the only two times I ever used it I wasn't so much trying to break the ice as just enliven a party. Both times I was viewed as "being cute". However, I did cause a minor stir the last time I used that particular line. I happened upon a young lady I didn't know. I thought she was rather kissable, and tried the line on her (with a rather smug audience waiting to see if I'd get my face slapped). Unbeknowst to us, this young lady had a bit of a cold, and had been drinking along with her cold medicine; she evidently didn't bother to breathe during the punch line, and fainted. I still haven't heard the last of it, 4 years later. Anything like this ever happen to anyone else? I like the idea involved in the line, because it has an essential humor in it (like me). Also, I have problems sometimes deciding when it's a good idea to try a little escalation (via osculation) in a new relationship. Thus, humorous approaches without being pushy or obnoxious tend to interest me. Suggestions are welcomed. -- Off the Wall of Gene Spafford The Clouds Project, School of ICS, Georgia Tech, Atlanta GA 30332 CSNet: Spaf @ GATech ARPA: Spaf.GATech @ CSNet-Relay uucp: ...!{akgua,allegra,rlgvax,sb1,unmvax,ulysses,ut-sally}!gatech!spaf
