I am angered at the shrinking number of Country Music radio
stations in the New York area. WKHK here in New York just went off
the air and I am furious!! I came into work on a Monday and their
playing marshmellow/bubble- gum music like Barbara Streisand, Barry
Manilow, and Bee Gees stuff. There is no justice in the world.

There certainly isn't. KHK used to be *W*R*V*R* -- the best jazz station in
the city -- and almost the only one.

OPINION:
Most of what is aired on ``country'' stations is drivel fit only for
flatworms. The stuff RVR played was easy to call art, even when you didn't
understand it. The trash that is called country claims (implicitly) to derive
from indiginous musicks. It does not.

You have nothing to complain about, you who mourn KHK. KHK was a brothel
built on the ruins of a temple.

But I agree that even a brothel attracts better clientel than a trash dump.
