yes, as a matter of fact, I believe Asimov was official science advisor to   
Star Wars. I read this in his book on Science Fiction (the genre) and I saw
his name in the credits.
  As a result, Star Wars was better than most movies in this respect, although I do seem to remember a few inconsistencies probably 
times when Asimov wasnt asked for his opinion.
