Some of the things Bob Fishell flames about drive me crazy too.
But please remember that supermarkets operate on a very low profit margin
per item; they make money on volume.  If you'd like to pay much higher
prices, and avoid all these problems, you're welcome (and there are plenty
of fancy food markets just waiting for your business).  I think most of us
regard supermarkets as good bargains.
