Well, even us Cub fans make mistakes. In my recent quiz
I listed Tony Cloniger as the only player to hit 2 grand
slams in 1 game. After getting a couple more answers, I
pulled out the record book and found SEVEN players to have
hit 2 grannies in 1 game. The players were:

Tony Lazzeri 1936 Yankees
Jim Tabor 1939 Red Sox
Rudy York 1946 Red Sox
Jim Gentile 1961 Orioles
Tony Cloninger 1966 Braves (only pitcher in the list)
Jim Northrup 1968 Tigers
Frank Robinson 1970 Orioles

I guess I only listed Cloninger cause he`s the only N.L. player.

Additional trivia:

5 days after his 2-grannies, Northrup hit ANOTHER. 3 in a week!
This has happened 2 times before. Larry Parrish hit 3 in a week
in July of `82(4th, 7th, 10th). Lou Gerigh also hit 3 in a week
in `31. Here`s how Lou did it:

8/29 Grandslam
8/30 2 run homer
8/31 Grandslam
9/1 Grandslam and a 2 run homer

Like they say on the commercial, the word is AWESOME!
Gerigh has the lifetime Grandslam title of 23.
Willie McCovey has the N.L. title with 18.

Break out the bats! Spring training is here!
