Instead of arguing about it folks, why don't you all do something useful and try to lend a helping hand to some of the starving people of the world. It doesn't take much money to sponsor a child from one of those countries on a monthly basis. It most certainly will not "Save the World", but I am convinced that it does help. I have been sponsoring a child now for two years and I get hand written letters from her telling me how much better she is doing now versus two years ago and how grateful she is. It is really a humbling experience to read these letters and know that I am just giving a minute percentage of my income each month so that a child can eat nourishing food and wear better clothes and attend classes so that she can learn to read and write. And here everyone is arguing about the situation when you can all be doing something about it instead. How many times have you heard people complaining about a situation in the world that they do not like and yet they do nothing to change that situation? I think that is pretty hypocritical. Oh well, this has just been a suggestion as to how we all might help our fellow man a little. Take it or leave it. Marie Carey Center for Seismic Studies Arlington, Virginia
