Additional info may be found in the Doctor Who monthly
magazine if you have a store esoteric enough to deal in
such things!

Also, many of the TV episodes (for several of the doctors)
have been published as novels
(like Startrek), which are rather juvenile in style, but
amusing. The ones I saw follow the tv scripts very closely.
The american editions are published by Target and I have seen
them in many bookstores. (Walden and B Dalton are 2 chains that
may carry them)

One other comment on the 20th anniversary show (the Five Doctors):
Tom Baker declined to appear in the show. As previously mentioned,
his scenes were taken from a never finished/shown episode called
Shada, which wasn't finished due to strikes by bbc workers.

Tom Baker's public
reason for not appearing in Five Doctors was that he had been
very involved in Doctor Who, and had just made the somewhat traumatic
decision to retire from the show just when the Five Doctors was
begun. He said "I felt very proprietary about the role" and didn't
want to see others playing it.
