My party disposed of a monster in a very interesting way a couple of years ago.
Quite some time before the encounter in question, they had found a "fallout
shelter of a wizard. He had created and stocked a secret complex of about five
rooms so that he could have a place to lay low for a while if his plans were
thwarted. In the complex he had several barrels of dehydrated food. They consisted
powders that would turn into various kinds of food when water was added.

About three months later (real time) they encounted a water weird. The encounter
went something like this: One of them said "Hey Mike, remember that pouch of
dehydrated steak I have been carrying around all this time?" "Yes." I confusedly
responded. "I throw a bunch of it on the water weird." he said.

The end result of all this is that if you ask my party how they dealt with the
last water weird they met, they gleefully respond "We ate it!"
