OK, it's clarification time...

What I want to know is, how do you get UNIX to manage processes well
in permanently fragmented RAM?  That is, instead of one slice
of RAM from address A to address B, you have 2 or more non-contiguous
fragments.  What do you have to do to run these as efficiently as 1 fragment?
Do you just have to implement core-shuffling? (A good idea anyway.)
