Bob Fischell must really be stuck with a lousy supermarket, and
no other choices. In the central part of Alexandria (Virginia)
there are a large Giant, a large Safeway, a small Coop, and an
*immense* Safeway within a mile of each other. They all have
barriers so carts can't be taken out into the parking lots, and
I've never suffered any of the problems Bob mentions. On the
rare occasions I've gotten produce that turned out not to be
fresh, or meat that had gone off, I take it back and get a quick
refund with no questions asked.
