Sounds good. I certainly would like to see some discusion about 
other message system besides UUCP. As Julian mentioned we have
been working on a message system based on the new CCITT protocols
for messaging (the X.400 series). It also uses the ISO session
and transport (class 0) protocols. To interconnect systems we 
have developed X.25 protocol package for Unix 4.2. Actually the
system can also transport messages over a phone line using a
modified version of CSNETs mmdf link protocol (the mods were to
permit 8bit data over ITI (X.29) links). It certainly is MUCH
better to use a direct datapac 3000 service to interconnect
however, both in speed and expense. Rental of a 2400 baud line
is $190 a month ($390 for 9600). The packet charges vary but its
about 1.50 per kilo packet from vancouver to toronto (packet
size is 256 characters).
