Shame on you, RCurtis.  Real TOPS-10 hackers know that the monitor
dot had no space after it, hence .CURTIS, not . CURTIS like in your
examples.

By the way, we TOPS-10 hackers (at least at Worcester Tech) would
call the period a point, pronouncing FOO.FIL foo-point-fil.  
But I do remember referring to the monitor dot (the monitor was the
OS, and the dot was the prompt from the built in command executive,
the integral "shell").  Monitor point didn't sound right, I guess.
