Sullivan) Newsgroups: net.jobs Subject: Designer of File Transfer Mechanisms (IBM/CMS) Message-ID: <725@linus.UUCP> Date: Thu, 16-Feb-84 16:21:52 EST Article-I.D.: linus.725 Posted: Thu Feb 16 16:21:52 1984 Date-Received: Fri, 17-Feb-84 06:18:24 EST Organization: MITRE Corp., Bedford MA Lines: 24 The Computer and Networking Technology Department (D34) at MITRE, Bedford, Massachusetts, has an opening in a five-person project at Bedford for someone to participate in the design and implementation of an Information Handler that facilitates the movement of data among IBM mainframes within the CMS environment and the evaluation of CMS-based workstations which includes studying the stand-alone CMS processing to off-load the processing burder on the IBM host, 3270 terminal emulation for interactive sessions and file transfers between workstation and host. The individual should be familiar with the VM/CMS operating system and EXEC 2. Familiarity with RSCS is essential, as well as an understanding of current IBM file transfer mechanisms. Experience with IBM assembly language programming would be desirable. This position will require an ability to work with the customer in designing the Information Handler, achieving design approval, implementing the Information Handler, and aiding in the installation and testing on the customer's system. Future work could include expanding the Information Handler to include the transfer of data between an IBM mainframe and a CMS-based workstation. Candidates should have a BS degree, a minimum of two years experience in IBM operating systems, and clear technical writing and oral presentation skills. Current TS/SCI access would be very helpful.
