Message-ID: <386@rayssd.UUCP> Date: Tue, 7-Feb-84 12:24:14 EST Article-I.D.: rayssd.386 Posted: Tue Feb 7 12:24:14 1984 Date-Received: Fri, 10-Feb-84 05:25:19 EST References: <858@ihuxm.UUCP> Organization: Raytheon Co., Portsmouth RI Lines: 16 I used to like to wear my seatbelt; it never used to bother me and I hardly noticed it when it was on. And the one time I forgot to put it on because I was a passenger in another car, we were in an accident and I dove into the rear-view mirror and was hurt so now I'm *really* convinced that I like seatbelts, but I have a problem: I'm short and the seatbelt in my new car (Reneault Alliance) cuts right across my throat. I've tried every adjustment I can think of and it (I mean the sharp edge of it) still cuts right across my throat. Given a choice, I'd prefer a head injury to decapitation. I took it back to the dealer immediately and asked him to adjust it, but he said that it's against the law to tamper with a seatbelt and all he could do is replace it with the same thing. Now all I can do is put the shoulder harness around the seat behind me and wear the lap belt, but I'd prefer a safer alternative. Any suggestions?
