The future world is believable and the problem is in the lack of description, not the overabundance. I agree there is a bit too much "set-up" at the beginning of the first book but the result is a clearly defined universe with understandable characters. My rating: 4 out of 5. P.S. The second book is about 3.5 and the third is 3 I am waiting to buy the fourth in hardcover whenever it arrives -- Stephen Perelgut Computer Systems Research Group University of Toronto Usenet: {linus, ihnp4, allegra, decvax, floyd}!utcsrgv!perelgut CSNET: perelgut@Toronto
