Have you forgotten the blues, country, and R+R (invented by Merkins in Merka) that originally gave the 60's British invasion something to sing in the first place? Or the Iggy Pop, NY Dolls, MC5, and Patti Smith that (again, all Merkins) that created the base of the current British invasion? Don't blame our artists for a lack of creativity that resides in the minds of the American listening (and record buying) public only. There's more intense musical creativity in this country right now than at any time I can remember! The major labels simply refuse to record it, probably because YOU jerks probably wouldn't buy it. Fortunately, labels like Ralph, Alternative Tentacles, &c, are probably exposing the next generation of British Invaders to what must surely seem like a breath of fresh air amonsgt all that techno-drivel we keep persuading them to produce. -michael
