O.K., folks, time to get nasty again. I got a few peeves about the
running of supermarkets, and I thought I'd vent them for all to see...

#1: Cart-littered parking lots. This is my biggest flame because
my car was damaged ($150 worth) by a stray shopping cart slamming
into my door on a windy day. The m_f_ers wouldn't pay for the
damages, citing 'an act of GOD.' God doesn't shop at that store,
and these days, neither do I.

Back in the days when I drove beaters (junk-mobiles, for those of
you living outside the Chicago area), I used to just mow them down.
Anybody got a '71 Pontiac, preferably with lots of rust, that I can
use as a grocery getter? (just kidding, folks)

#2: Aisles blocked by stockers when the store is open. I'm sick and
tired of having to steer my cart around pallets stacked high with
boxes, carts full of junkk, etc. When I went to the store earlier
this week, almost the entire produce dept. resembled a freight yard.
I had to leave my cart 30 feet away and *squeeze* past a pile of
boxes just to get to the tomatoes.

#3: Slow checkout lines. No matter how empty the store is, you always
have to wait behind some matron with 110 jars of baby food. There's
nothing to do while your meat is spoiling there in the line except
read the National Inquirer, which is why it's there.

#4: The lasers in those bar-code scanners hurt my eyes. And that box that
hollers out the prices as they are scanned gets on my nerves. What
ever happened to those nimble-fingered checkout clerks? It used to
be a wonder to behold, how their fingers would actually blur as they
    flew over the register.

#5: Low stock on favorite items. I don't know how many times I've gone
to the store and half-filled my cart, only to find that the few items
I really needed were out of stock. Ever try to get a loaf of bread
right around closing time? You're usually stuck with "Betty Brown
Raisin & Nut loaf," or that italian stuff that's hard as a rock and
    comes in a paper bag.

#6: Rotten produce: mushy tomatoes, brown lettuce, etc. You've seen it.
I got a million of them! C'mon, let's have some more from all you
disgruntled consumers out there!
