Someone did that with UNIX-WIZARDS and I was quite displeased to get a call from Berkeley saying "could I please do something about all this mail going though Berkeley, it was bringing their system to its knees". Not to mention bogging my system or raising my phone bills (it's long distance from here to Berkeley). ARPA mailing list maintainers, please take note.
