Ok, ok, so I'm a sucker for teen movies with a music theme. I even
thought Rock n' Roll High School was fun.

Here's some info on the latest Teensploitation flick.

Bad first:

The plot is shallow. And unbelievable. The Texas accents of the
actor who plays the preacher and the actresses who play his daughter
and his wife are intermittent at best and non-existent at worst.

But -- The Good:

The characters are interesting and believable (above and beyond the
limitations of the plot). The soundtrack is very good. The
dancing, while unchoreographed, is energetic and believable. The
movie is fun.

I think the good outweighed the bad. I was very happy for the $2.00
I paid for it. I don't think it's worth $4.00, though (but then, I
don't think ANY movie is worth $4.00, and I refuse to pay that much
for any movie).

I think it would be a very good movie for a hot summer midnight
drive-in with the music cranked up and a lot of room to dance.

See it on a weeknight or matinee, because the theater will be full
of teeny-boppers on the weekends.
