Which is why I often have quite a few *unread* letters in my mailbox. (Counting Unix-Wizards, which comes to me over ARPAnet as mail, I've gotten as far as 500 messages behind. This is probably about 50-60 `real' messages worth.) Even a simple `thanks' or `go away' is enough. The one sin I'm most guilty of is putting a letter aside until I have time for the long reply I want to give it. If I were smart I'd send a `longer letter follows' note, as getting around to the extended reply always takes longer than expected. Obviously, from the number of netnews submissions I've been making recently, finding time isn't a problem at the moment... -Ed Hall decvax!randvax!edhall
