Message-ID: <885@ut-sally.UUCP> Date: Fri, 3-Feb-84 09:24:40 EST Article-I.D.: ut-sally.885 Posted: Fri Feb 3 09:24:40 1984 Date-Received: Wed, 8-Feb-84 03:49:34 EST Organization: U. Texas CS Dept., Austin, Texas Lines: 16 Does anybody have a 4.2 (or 4.1c) version of 'dump(8)' that logs which files it writes to tape? We really need to have this sort of thing in order to find which backup tape some lusers' file is on. Making dump do this looks like a non-trivial job, so I hope that someone else has done so. Thanks in advance... (Of course, if nobody has one, then no thanks will be in order). Yes, I know that a 'restore t' can be done after the dump to get a table of contents - I was wondering if someone has taught dump to do one as it goes. -- Clyde W.
