Lines: 20 Wrong "dog breath"-:), the Hill is modeled after Fort Apache in the South Bronx. Famous in song and legend for its characters and ambience. There even has been exterior shots of the station from time to time. There are a number of shots of Chicago also. Granted, there are also exterior shots of Pitt and Philly and several other cities. But, it remaineth to say that there is only one Fort Apache and that is in the good ole Sout Bronex. Don't go there unless you are are in a party of not less than 200 brave souls. Seriously folks. HSB is a composite of several eastern cities, as far as the opening shots are concerned. The rest of the shots are LA and environs. Remember Bumper Morgan of Blue Knight fame? Some of the same street scenes are in both HSB and BK. They are shooting some location shots this week in some eastern city BTW. It was reported in the paper that some big REAL crime took place just a block from HSB shooting. I don't even remember now which city. But, it wasn't Pitt or Philly. T. C. Wheeler
