Yeah, right. Many states (CA for one) have laws restrict driving to 55 MPH,
and laws that state explicitly or infer indirectly that you get out of the
lane if someone is attempting to go faster than you.

I can't find any laws in my CA rules of the road booklet about any any
rights to be ``anywhere on the road''. I find plenty of laws about slower
traffic keeping to the right, safe driving, consideration, etc.

The general concept seems to be ``you can't legally go faster than 55 MPH,
but no matter what a (fellow?) asshole does, you can't be an equal or
greater asshole by playing righteous games / king of the road''.

Supposed a loved one just incurred a major trauma, and I've decided that
at 9 at night it's faster to take them to the hospital myself rather
than let them bleed to death. On a lighly loaded freeway, I could do
100 MPH rather safely (don't know if my 4 cyl. Citation could, though).
Or, at 15 miles to the next exit, that greasy food you had for dinner
decides it time for you to visit the bathroom NOW!

``My right ...'' belongs in houses of worship and political speeches,
not on freeways.

Wasn't there an incident shortly after nationwide 55 MPH laws about a
group of turkeys who went 4 abreast on a freeway in WI and really tied
things up??? Whatever happened to them?
