I realize that not everyone enjoys or wants hug.  I wasn't suggesting
an increase in gratuitous hugging, either.

Suffice it to say you probably shouldn't go around hugging people who've
made it clear that they wouldn't like that, or if they feel that is
an invasion of their space, etc.

I don't go around hugging people `gratuitously', and I, too, have a
sense of personal space.  It is the outright rejection of hugging
under any circumstances that I despair of.

A hug should be done to the pleasure of both parties involved.  The
feelings of others should be respected.
