Having experienced both sides of the coin in this discussion,(ie being
tailgated and wanting some roadhog(THIS IS THE ONLY CORRECT TERM) to move over)
and who hasn't ,I'd like to offer my observations after 7 years of driving in
the US (18 years altogether).

1. In rural areas almost anything goes and this works as there is so little
     traffic.

2. In urban areas almost everyone drives aggressively (or stays the hell out
of the city) and is aware that they are vulnerable and acts accordingly.

3. In suburban areas (you can include 75% of New Jersey in this) almost everyone
on the road has the impression that he/she/it is the only one who matters.
This applies equally to tailgators and roadhogs and those who deem that
THEY alone KNOW what the law is and how it should be applied in EVERY
     situation.

Unfortunately most of my driving these days falls into the third category
and I find that almost every week something happens on the road that really
makes my blood boil.I don't recall this being the case when I lived in
Indiana or when I was back in Europe.I love driving(40-45,000 miles per year)
and love where I live (overlooking Sandy Hook,New York skyline and the Atlantic
Ocean) BUT I think I'm going to have to do something about where I live or
the driving as things don't seem to be getting any better around here.
