clear \- clear terminal screen and status line
.SH SYNOPSIS
.B clear

.SH DESCRIPTION
.I Clear
clears your screen if this is possible.  It uses the ``cl'' capability
from
.IR termcap (5)
to figure out how to clear the screen.

If the
.I \-l
option is specified, the status line of the terminal will be disabled
also, using the ``ds'' capability.

(?Feature) If the needed capabilities cannot be found, it quietly does
