Apparently Canada, like England, doesn't consider lottery/pool
winnings to be taxable income.  Seems a reasonable position if
you're running an official state lottery.  In the US, of course,
you would have to pay taxes on the winnings.  Customs does
apparently confiscate lottery tickets, when they happen to find
them.  Presuming you got in with your ticket, I don't know if
you'd have trouble collecting the prize.
