I was told by the TERRA people that unless I had an outside antenna, my transmission distance would be limited to a mile or less. I tried it out with Rockford approach control and got about eight miles with no reduction in clarity and only a slight reduction in signal strength. I could have gotten more, I think, but didn't test any further. I am thinking about modifying the aircraft to provide access to one of the outside radio antennas with coaxial switches and BNC connectors. Anybody out there have any experience with hand held 720s? Where can I get parts for such a modification for under, say $20? -- Bill Adams ==> AT&T Communications <== ihnp4!ihuxp!esac (312) 979-6267
