Good grief! Why all the fuss about subdividing net.music?
I personally will continue to subscribe to both net.music.rock
and net.music.classical (plus the parent) and suggest that
anyone who wants the whole mess do the same. The advantages
are that the few (?) who want to subscribe to only one subgroup
can do so (there are several of these, it seems), your news
is automatically organised by subgroups (I find it a pain to
keep switching mental modes while reading net.music),
and the bulk of current articles fall neatly into one group
or the other.

As to the disadvantages, well ... ?

The gripes about net.music.rock.ambient.eno.pre-1977.deleted
subgroups are unfounded and irrelevant. Nobody is suggesting
uncontrolled proliferation of subgroups.

Sheesh!
