View, CA Lines: 21 On Valentine's Day, I went to see X at the Catalyst (one of the nicer clubs in Santa Cruz, Ca.). When I saw X a little over a year ago, I was quite disappointed. They didn't have enough energy, weren't putting enough into the show. I went to this show because I haven't been getting enough live rock and roll lately, and it's hard to resist a show you can walk to (I live 5 blocks from the Catalyst). You can have your self a good old time if you can take off your pumps and walk home, rather than having to deal with a car. This year X put on quite a good show. They had lots of energy, were really putting out, their vocal harmonies (which I've always enjoyed) have become a lot more polished, and their music in general has improved. Exene has lost a little weight and looks really cute; at the minute her hair is dyed red with blond-green roots. So go see X now, you'll have a lot of fun. I'd like to hear more about concerts attended, or do you people just listen to music at home and intellectualize about it. -bub {hao,menlo70}!ames-lm!bub
