"Bill, the Galactic Hero" FUNNY!!??I read this book in college and can't remember a less funny book (except for another one I read by Harrison -- can't remember the name but the synopsis goes: A human wins some galactic lottery and travels to where he must pick it up (it turns out to be some creature which feeds on itself -- that's all I remember). The problem arises out of the fact that this human can't return to earth because he doesn't know it's 'galactic address' so he must find it by hopping around through 'possible' realities while being chased by some meanie. Ugh. A truly unfunny book.) Maybe I just 'missed' the humor in "Bill,..." because I've never been in a war. However, I *did* find the "Stainless Steel Rat" stories by Harrison funny, particularly the first three which I got bound in one volume from the SF book club (back when I belonged). I recommend these books, especially if you like to laugh at the IRS. sharon
