The January 1984 issue of the newsletter of the San Francisco Bay Area Chapter
of New Jewish Agenda contained the following letter to the editor:

	Dear Editor:

There has been much ado about prayer in the schools and other
public places of late. Personally, I am inclined to support
the sentiments of Will Rogers, when he wrote in 1928: "The
Republican Convention opens with a prayer. If the Lord can see
his way to bless the Republican Party with the way it's been
carrying on, then the rest of us ought to get blessed without
	even asking."
