I am generally impressed with the topics discussed and the good variety of advertisements, as well as the editorial tone . One espesially good article is entitled : 'C-64 Word Processing Demystified !' by N. Salkind, R. Baker, D. Raab , G. Wright This article covers some background material and then presents short reveiws on a number of word processor packages for the C-64 . The format is one of Overview, What I Liked, What I Didn't Like, Summary . The discussion of each package is not a full blown test drive, but rather a brief description of capabilities and unique features . In addition, most features of each word processor are listed in a table for easy comparison. With this format the reader can quickly zero in on the software that closely fills his/her needs . This is by far the best presentation of its kind that I have come across. I would highly recommend this article for anyone looking for a C-64 word processing package . Just a related note .... I am scratching my head over a comment that was made, in the above article, concerning the Easy Scrpt 64 word processor : ... two copies of the disk are included in the package . also A small quick reference guide card is supplied.... Well, I didn't get either the duplicate disk or the reference guide . So did I get ripped off or is Commodore playing games ???? Has anyone been able to buy the Easy Script package on cartridge ? Please mail me with your comments ..... One last thing, the fact that the manual for Easy Script 64 was written for software in cartridge form, when it is accually supplied on disk, is not mentioned in the above article . There are no instructions in the manual telling how to boot the disk . The correct proceedure is : LOAD"*",8,1 This will load the first porgram listed in the dirertory, which in this case starts running on its own to load the rest of the needed Easy Script 64 software . The reason I again point this out on the net, is that several poeple have bought the package and then tell me that they are unable to bring it up .
