We here at BBN are looking for a good CAD system to run on our UNIX machines. I think we are most interested in buying a flexible software package rather than a standalone workstation (although I'd be happy to hear arguments to the contrary). We have a lot of BitGraph terminals (1024x768 bitmap graphics terminals), plotters, and computers around, so finding proper I/O and CPU cycles is probably not an issue. We are primarily interested in schematic drawing and simulation packages, with secondary emphasis on PC layout and mechanical design. Does anyone have any good suggestions? Is there an info-CAD list I should send this to? Carl cdh@BBN-UNIX
