Once upon a time there were three Indian squaws sitting around the
fire. One squaw was sitting on a bear hide. She weighed one
hundred pounds. The second squaw was sitting on a buffalo hide.
She weighed two hundred pounds. The third squaw was sitting on a
hippopotamus hide. She weighed three hundred pounds.

The moral of the story?

The squaw of the hippopotamus is equal to the sum of the squaws of
the other two hides.
