Title: Interesting behaviour of Mimics

  Recently I played a game (on version 4.22) where I reached level 21 with
a staff of light.  I used it to light up a room, whereupon I saw a pair
of '*'.  I moved over one of the '*' and found it to be gold.  Since the
other one was most likely a mimic, I decided to back off and throw a couple
of arrows at it.  I was quite surprised when the arrow passed directly over
the Mimic and the mimic disappeared from view.  However, doing an 'f' in the
direction I threw the arrow made the mimic reappear.  I suspect this is
an unintentional feature of the game.
