I have not seen that one yet, but I DO have another case of a bizarre game.
Last night I decided to play (seeing as I haven't played for a while), and
the weirdest thing happened...I was killed by a Kobold on level 1.  Ok, no
problem.  I hit return to get the scorefile, and nothing appeared!!!!  Then,
to my astonishment, a rogue.save ended up in my home directory.  I decided
to try it, and when I did, not only did it start up where I had just gotten
mauled by the Kobold, but it also printed a copy of my gravestone!!!!

This happened about 3 times...I would get killed, find a rogue.save in my
directory, start the game again, and have the tombstone printed on the
screen.  Doing a ctrl/L did nothing to get rid of it.  And there was
absolutely nothing in the scorefile!! Not even the previous Top Ten that
was there last time I played...maybe a leprechaun got loose in the
machine somehow...
